The saying has been "I'll never boo a college player" as opposed to a pro player being fair game because he's getting paid. Will Young now be held accountable by the fans if he does not play well? Can you imagine Saban's reaction??

Side effects, what happens when they have so much money they can do whatever they want pre NFL. Drugs become more available, more clingers on etc...

It's inevitable, IMO.
Most of these guys who are earning that type of money are competitors who have worked their asses off to succeed. They will continue to do so, and will be fine.
But you know there will be that one dude.

The real problems will begin when the other players, lineman in particular, see these guys getting all this money while they get chump change.

Saban is the best team manager ever in college football. If there is a coach in the world that can manage this well, it's Nick Saban

A ton of people say not to boo college teams because they’re amateurs (amongst other reasons). Because of stuff like this, they’re essentially not amateurs any longer
