This is self serving from Nick. I dont blame him, but it is self serving. After a 4 week break, it makes ZERO sense in getting another 2 week break. College football is a season in which they play after a 1 week break.
Nick knows he will have the talent advantage 99% of the time. When he can control the outside factors(injury, fatigue) etc, it will always help the team with the most talent. He is doing the best he can to setup as little outside factors as possible.
Once again, I dont blame him. But going from a scenario where games are played each week, to then having a 4 week break followed by a 2 week break is nonsensical

Why don't we just call of the actual playing of the games and just give the Nicktator the title every year since he likes to bitch and cry about everything that seems to put his panties in a twist?
Come on Dawgs ! Beat this little bitch next week please!

That's fine, but they should allow them to treat it like a normal week. Both teams stay on their campus all week and show up on Sunday.
Can you imagine Oklahoma or Ohio State playing in the Rose Bowl in California on Monday, flying home and basically losing most of Tuesday, having maybe 2 days on campus, then having to fly to Atlanta on Thursday or early Friday to practice and then do media shite for 2 days?
This is the biggest game of the season. It's just silly to add all that burden to 2 teams trying to play their biggest game and giving them 7 days after probably playing far from their campus before when you could easily give them an extra 2-3 days to basically cancel out the media shite they have to do.

Man.
I'd be looking for skeletons in his closet. SOMETHING to fire him with cause.

Or at the very least somewhere between 10-14 days depending on where New Year's Day falls.
just move the semis up a week or the national title game back a week. It makes no sense to give teams 4 weeks to prepare for the semi-finals and then 1 week to prepare for the national title game with all of the other nonsense that goes on during that week. I know people will look at this as Saban whining again, but I've actually discussed this before as being illogical.

100% agree with both of you. I also don't think they'll ever frick with the "New Years Day" thing, especially if it involves the Rose Bowl.

I do love how Malzahn forced Auburn to make a decesion immediately when the AU powers that be wanted to wait until after the season totally finished. Ole Gus was like “give me a guaranteed contract right now or I’m going to Arkansas”. It’s beautiful really.

That's a good point. The yeah just move the title game out one more week. I don't even see a good argument against it, even from a media perspective.

10 days would be ideal.

Yea, the only other option is move back championship weeks - but I doubt they frick with that (and the recruiting period directly after it) either.
It just all seems so rushed and there is really no reason for it to be.

hey have one week turnarounds 9-10 times in the regular season.
It's obvious from your response that your team has never been to the College Football Playoffs.

How is it any different than preparing week in and week out during the regular season?
