Came to post this... get it to a Friday/Saturday... I don't know how "doable" this would be with varying the time up, but would make the most sense IMO. Natty on Monday seems dumb. Don't like it any more for Basketball either.

I said the same think for the SEC championship game. We should have a bye week after playing Bama. What’s the rush?

Well, he's right, but shouldn't have said anything. Teams play back-to-back big games all the time in the regular season. It's not a backbreaker, just one of the inevitable aspects of CFB.

What's so amusing is that a quick turn around would probably benifit the team with the most depth, And Alabama usually has that edge.

Saban just scared that Kirby is about to lay waste to his empire

The University changed the start date a few years ago so as not to conflict with the playoffs. They don't start until after anyways. Same with Tuscaloosa city schools.

Bama benefits from the quick turnaround more than UGA does. UGA is coming off a high-speed emotional shoot-out, not a style of play they're used to this season. Bama comes off a typical Bama game in both substance and style. The hangover for UGA is likely to be much more damaging than Bama's. It's not necessarily going to be a game-breaker, but it's certainly a rational concern.

That bitch. I hope every AU fan spits on him the next time he walks by. fricker got into the playoffs because his team got to sit at home and watch everyone else fight for a spot.

Looks like you’re being a little bitch because you watched your team knock off your two biggest rivals, thinking that you derailed their seasons on your way to the playoffs only to be bitch slapped back into reality and forced to watch the same two rivals play for a National Championship.

Yep, which is exactly my point. Most universities don’t go back until around that time or later.

Come on nick. Stop bitching.

I think UGA shot their wad......Nick has been there before. I think stage is too big right now for UGA.

This is kind of dumb.
First, there is no disadvantage. Both teams face the same obligations and week.
Second, there are road games and neutral games throughout the season with 7 day turnarounds.
Third, we are talking about media obligations. Not practice. Not finals. This isn't heavy lifting folks. It is talking to guys who probably never played past high school. They can sleepwalk through these sessions (or feign flu-like symptoms).
Saban can speak his mind. That's more than fair. But the only difference between now and week 2 are media obligations. Seriously. If his team can't handle it, maybe he should force his assistants to speak to the media during the season and remove restrictions on freshmen and the like.

Most schools start back up after the 10th, so they need to keep the final about where it is. Make the first round 3-4 days earlier regardless of what night of the week that is. but they won't. ESPN paid too much for it and is probably losing money already.

Well he’s heading the only school ever since the founding of conference championships to have an extra “bye” week due to not even qualifying for said game (twice).
So this is beyond laughable.

Did he talk about how its bad for teams to get rewarded for having an extra week off by not making the conference championship games?

He probably let that slip his mind. I'm sure it was accidental.

Little Nicky makes comments like this all the time to get the NCAA to change the rules for him. Stfu and coach your team.
