How much better does Kirby think he is going to recruit? Seriously, this might be the dumbest reason I have ever heard for moving the game.

This is why we can't have nice things.

If that extra visit nets him one extra stud, it’s worth it from Kirby’s perspective. The game in Jax does nothing for him as the HC of Georgia.

It shouldn’t be completely his call though.

Having gone to 25+ Florida / Georgia games in Jax. and 1 in Athens and 1 in Gainesville, as a fan, IMO it would be a shame to break the tradition of the WLOCP in Jax. although the Gators hung 52 on the mutts on both the games I attended on campus in 1994 and 1995, good times!!!

Steve Spurrier, we love you!!!

Many Georgia reporters seem to forget this part. Just because Kirby wants the game moved doesn’t mean it will be. There’s another elite college program a part of the game and they have a say in this too.

The best solution to me is that Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Oklahoma petition the NCAA to allow the designated home team to give tickets to and host recruits to the WLOCP and the Red River Rivalry. If you get those four programs petitioning the NCAA, I doubt that the NCAA tells those type of programs no.

That is patently false.

It does nothing for home visits. That is true.
You are hyperbolic.

The game gets CBS primetime every year. We recruit nationally. That is huge.

The game gives S Georgia and N Florida residents a reason to cheer Georgia as their home team. Georgia is a huge state. Growing up Dawgs means giving those families something tangible that they can hold on to.

The game gives UGA money. About $3M more every 2 years than a home game would. What is more important? The arms race for coaches like Pittman?
Or 1 of about 11-12 home games every 2 years for a recruit to complete an official visit. Hint... coaches like Pittman cost money. We lost Chaney because of money. This $3M number likely goes up with the next negotiation.

You don't want a kid taking their official visit at a neutral site game. If you are paying for the family to visit, you want them to see the campus, dorms, classes, and teachers.

Families will go to WLOCP anyway. Because it is awesome. But it hurts recruiting if we somehow try to make that our official visit.

$3m over two years is not some enormous financial windfall from Kirby’s perspective when you look at the scale of the entire program. Money has been no problem for Kirby. Spending has been crazy and will continue to be with the updated football facility. If he had thought Chaney was worth it, they could have come up with the cash.

A Georgia-Florida game at home sites would still be on CBS far more often than not. If not, it would be on ESPN.

I’m not in favor of moving it, but I see why he would want to. If Cam Newton 2.0 comes along, you don’t want to miss on him because of a lack of available visit weekend.

I am all for moving the game make Florida have to travel further than an hour and a half. Most of their out of conference games for as long as I can remember they haven't left the state of Florida. Hell with them make them travel like the rest of college football

You don't get a program/budget this big by snubbing $3M here and $3M there. As a single source of funds, that is a huge chunk of revenue.

One recruit. You pussies are going to move the game out of Jax over one recruit.

I blame the got damn Gator fans. We need to quit fricking with Georgia over the stupid arse 1980 shite so much. Georgia fans are now so obsessed with winning a championship, they would sell their mama's house and move her into the damn student ghetto if that is what it took.

Championships are OK, but not all that great. Just look at Bama fans. They are still miserable dipshits with all those titles. Do you want to be like them? Hell no, you are better than that.

Everyone do the right thing and quit messing with UGa over the (you know what year) thing, so we can keep the game in Jax where it belongs.

Thank you for your support on this matter.

They really don't - as much as I would prefer that the game stay in Jax. Both teams have to agree to the neutral site. Alternatively, UGA can take back the home game and UF can keep the game in Jax... but that would be odd and likely a strange negotiation with the city of Jax to do only every other year... And for what purpose.

Auburn too. They are just as bad as we are. We all need to collectively come together on this. It is for the greater good.

They already *can* do that... but for $ome rea$on Ga/Fl game does not do this.

I believe Red River does, but they are not permitted any contact with the recruits to my knowledge.

I am only looking at this from Kirby’s perspective, and he has had zero issue with funding.

Like I said, this shouldn’t be entirely his call.

I say swap it every other year and keep it 50/50 between Atlanta and Jacksonville. That ought to satisfy everybody.

No... If it moves from Jax, it should go Home/Home. I prefer it stay in Jax, but moving it to Atlanta isn't a compromise that is satisfying the complaints that are causing this discussion anyways.
