I agree about Auburn... UGA had nothing to do with that... but it does impact UGAs scheduling and the availability of big time home games... lets take this year for example... if UGA didn’t have ND and TexAM at home would anyone ( big recruits) be looking forward to any of the home games.... and before you say that’s why UF should be home/home... UGA is the designated road team... so we still would have a crappy schedule.... so I think the fact that AU and GT are on the same schedule is forcing CKS hand a bit... he doesn’t care about the location of the game... he has said so..., he cares about the recruiting....until this year not one UGA fan ever used that as a reason to move it... it was all about the perceived home advantage , by the fans only... but now KS has given you an actual reason.... because he thinks it’s a neutral game.. that he can’t recruit at.

If Jax. is 75 mi. from Gainesville, Atlanta is 75 mi. from Athens. Then both teams have to travel by plane or bus in alternative years.
This solution works both ways.

If you're going for Miami, then I'll counter with Columbus.

You really think so?

Go back and look at some of the schedules over the last 10 years. There are plenty of times a different game would have been chosen; the reason they lock it is because of the atmosphere of the game.

2019... CBS has Locke’s the following games
Bama at South Carolina - CBS opening week
ND at UGA - night game
UGA- UF
Mizz-Ark- Nov 29???? Have no idea
SEC champ
Army-Navy
Sun bowl

You think that doesn’t change if the game is home and home.... your crazy

Of course they would.SC,Mizzou and UK will still be big conference games.Hell, look @ Nana's home schedule...ours is still better even in an off year.

Not one? Got to be kidding me and CMR botched about continuously.

Thinks? Both schools agreed not to host recruits there.

How is it unfair to the actual people playing or coaching the game... they go to hotel.. to stadium... play the game.. go home....

UGA stays in a hotel at home...

It does not impact the game.... you know how I know... look at the series... Dawgs lead... that simple.

Of course not because half their roster is from Texas...it's HUGE game for them to have a presence down there.

Was waiting for someone to mention this. Very true.

1. They both ride a bus from the hotel
2. It doesn’t say WLOCP.. they don’t use that.. it says SEC

3... the most important reason ; which none of you care about; is it will really hurt the golden isles and Jax economy... which is why the game WILL NOT MOVE. Bank it!

You cut my last statement... I said he thinks it is a neutral game... which it is....
he just can’t recruit at it... and you are correct the schools did agree not to... but it is also a dead period.

Whoop-ti-do. It should be home/home or rotated with Atlanta.

No question

They don't "lock" in anything it's part of the contract of the game.

You really don't think it's on CBS this year of it's not in Jax? Doesn't change a thing and stop with the "atmosphere" BS.
Georgia/Florida is the selling and will be as long as both programs are competitive.

Look at who's played in late Oct early November. What other games are gonna take its place?

1 - & the Dawgs have to take a plane just to get to the hotel.
2 - I'm talking about the logo in the middle of the field...still can say SEC.
3 - & are you more worried about the city of Jax.'s finances or doing what's right for the schools?

That's like saying if UCLA & UGA had a rivalry that was always played in San Diego. You still think that's fair for the Dawgs?

No. That is a fricking idiotic comparison. The difference in travel time for both teams is not much for WLOCP.

A much more accurate geographical comparison using San Diego would be Stanford and San Diego State playing in Los Angeles every year. Even that isn't quite accurate because the Bay Area is farther from LA than Athens is from Jacksonville.

They already *can* do that... but for $ome rea$on Ga/Fl game does not do this.

I believe Red River does, but they are not permitted any contact with the recruits to my knowledge.

Seems silly. Let the “home” team treat the players as if it were a home game. I imagine neither team would want to host official visitors at the game, of course, but you’d rather host officials closer to signing day anyway.

Let the kids stand on the sidelines or sit in the pools If recruiting is the issue, a solution is certainly possible while keeping the game in Jacksonville.

Hell, if Jacksonville wants to keep the game bad enough, they’ll put some temporary bleachers on the sidelines for recruits to sit in for the game

Not on the day of the game. It’s usually, if not always, the premiere sec game on that particular weekend.

This year? Sure. In seasons like 2013, 2014, 2015, and 2016 when neither team was all that good, it would have been a nooner on ESPN2.

This. If both programs continue on this trajectory, and if the city of Jacksonville won’t burn to the ground, Florida-Georgia will be the CBS prime time staple on a yearly basis going forward a la Bama-LSU, except actually competitive.

I don't have the schedules in front of me, but I can tell you that 5-3 Georgia vs 4-4 Florida (2013 records) was not moving the needle if it was in Athens or Gainesville.
