It's because Ohio State had 1 loss to a team that could be the national champion while Alabama had 2 losses to two teams that had at least 2 losses.

The logic's not hard. I mean, it's Georgia hard, but not normal hard.

Here, let me fix this for you...

Ohio state and Michigan are WAY better than Tennessee and LSU, who Bama lost to.

Tenn & l$u would be treading water in the B10 East Division, fighting with Maryland for table scraps. Here would have been the standings this year if they were in the East:

1. Michigan: 9-0 B1G, 12-0 overall
2. Ohio State: 8-1 B1G, 11-1 overall
3. Penn State: 7-2 B1G, 10-2 overall
4. Tennessee: 5-4 B10, 8-4 overall
5. L$U: 4-5 B10, 7-5 overall
6. Maryland: 4-5 B1G, 7-5 overall
7. Michigan State: 3-6 B1G, 5-7 overall
8. Indiana: 2-7 B1G, 4-8 overall
9. Rutgers: 1-8 B1G, 4-8 overall

The real reason is everyone k ew Alabama should have dominated this year. You returned an overachieving team from a year ago and other than WR, you had returned most of your defense, OL and QB. It wasn’t the two losses as much as it was Bama just seemed unhinged all year. They never put a complete game together and their wins were not impressive. If they had beat Texas impressively, Ole Miss and MSST then Bama may have gotten in. As much as I though Bama iverachieved last year, they equally underachieved this year just based on level of play.

The committee picked TCU over Alabama, TCU was the real last team in. They put TCU at 3 just to avoid the Michigan/Ohio St rematch that everyone just watched.

TCU got in because they had one less loss.

2 loss Ohio St and TCU had no shot of getting in. 2 loss Alabama almost got in.

2 loss Alabama even being considered is all you have to know about the prestige factor for the Tide.

Nope

Just responding to the Dawg-cessed Gumps on here that are insecure about UGA being the new alpha Dawgs of college football and have been endlessly melting about Stetson Bennett having a more heisman caliber season than their golden boy Bryce

If by irrelevant you mean not winning NCs then Georgia was irrelevant for FOUR decades before getting over the hump last year.

Georgia has been consistently good for the last 2 decades just couldn’t win a ship til last year.

They still aren’t blue bloods bc winning 1 ship in 40 years doesn’t mean shite. But if they pull off the repeat this year they certainly are trending in that direction.

That is some crack statistical analysis. 2 whole data points....
News flash. Heads is now clearly the predominant face of the coin. My last two coin flips were heads and get this... tails lost both times!!! It is obvious that Tails is in the decline and nowhere on the same level as heads.

Why is Penn State considered a top 15 team?

because they are currently ranked #11

i haven't been in a math classroom in over 25 years, but I'm pretty sure 11 is still considered top 15.

They literally propped the B1G off of Penn State ranking.

i don't know anyone that's using Penn State as the "prop up" for the Big Ten

that's why they're behind all but 1 power 5 team with the same record. Which would be just the opposite of propping up.

Half the SEC would have gone undefeated with Ohio State's schedule...

There are four teams that the media fawn all over the start of every football season about how good they are, how they'll make the playoff and how they're back. Every single year. Sometimes they are right mostly not so much. Ohio State, Notre Dame, SoCal and Michigan because historically it was usually one of them until Bear got Bama rolling and got a bigger spotlight on Southern football9 yes there were some others like Duke in the 1930s and 40s but Bear really got the spotlight on teams in the south. But the old biases still hold true with national media.

Debatable years
2014
2016

2019 they were undefeated and #1 going into the last poll so that wasn't a debate
2020 they were undefeated again that would only be a debate because of the # of games played which was outside of their control
2022 there wasn't a debate because there are only 4 P5 teams with 0 or 1 loss

Edit: this is OSU's 5th time in the playoffs

Before Saban, UGA was irrelevant for almost 3 decades. So what your point.

Actually no OSU refused to play the games and led the B10 in the matter. Once they saw everyone else decide to play they joined in. Not even debatable because OSU did not deserve to get in that year.

You are the sad little puppy that started the thread. Not a UA fan.

UGA is now Insecure U. Please puppies keep starting threads for our entertainment.

Actually you are 100% wrong with this statement.
