This is a good point

Before Saban, Alabama was irrelevant for 2 decades

Ohio state has had Tressel, Urban, and now Day winning at a high level with the first two getting a natty and Day having the chance at one early in his HC career

That is all true. Ohio State never takes time off. We are always in the conversation and always will. I feel Alabama is already slipping on the end side of its run.

It’s like in 2014, the committee ranked tcu over Baylor despite both having 1 loss and tcu losing to Baylor h2h.

“good loss > a bad loss” seems to be more important than head to head

“Eye test alone” who do you have as the current top 4?

You just showed how young you are. Please tell me how dominant OSU was under Bruce or even the first half of Cooper's years. OSU was not a national narrative for almost 15 years.

The only thing impressive about Bruce at OSU was his coaching tree.

Jim Tressel
Glen Mason
Pete Carroll
Nick Saban
Urban Meyer
Dom Capers

Not a difficult question to answer....easy, it's Alabama.

The committee rewards soft scheduling. Look at Michigan's OOC schedule.

Heck, look at their conference schedule to.

I have been saying it all season and this is what happens.

The committee says strength of schedule matters till it does not fit the team they want and they reset the narrative.

They ruined College Basketball this way and they will ruin College Football in this generation.

1 Georgia
2 TCU
3 Alabama
4 Nobody really deserves 4, maybe Michigan for undefeated but weak schedule

If the committee really had the nuts, just take 2 and let them play for the Natty (Georgia and TCU)

No goes
AAC = Tulane and 2 losses to non P5
ACC = Clemson, they had holes but losing to SC @ Home sunk them
B12 = KSU was #2 but 3 losses (loss to Tulane sinks them)
B1G = Ohio State, boat raced @ home and weak schedule should keep them out
GUSA = nobody
IND = nobody
MAC = nobody
MWC = nobody
PAC = USC got beat by Utah twice so Utah > USC
PAC = Washington lost to UCLA and ASU, DNP USC and Utah
SEC = Tennessee, lost QB and loss to SC killed their chance
SEC = LSU, fun to watch but 4 losses did them in
SUN = Troy lost to Rebs and App State who collapsed after TAMU win (6-6)

As it stands now, the best way to show how the committee favored the B1G by rewarding bad scheduling but if there is any justice. TCU will boat race Michigan and Georgia will curb stomp Ohio State.

That gets us to Georgia and TCU for the Natty and probably the correct two to fight it out for #1

On the field

Alabama has more wins, more national titles, more bowl appearances and wins, has a winning record over every team they have played 11 or more times, has more TV appearances and has won at least one national title every decade since 1920 (except the 1950's and 1980's)

Facts not fiction......

Child, Ohio State is a pale shadow of Alabama. Even Oklahoma and USCw overshadow OSU

Now you know that every UGA fan breathed a sigh of relief when Alabama missed the playoffs. UGA does not do very well against Alabama on the field.

Well, unless its postseason game against an SEC team. Once Georgia beats you by three touchdowns, She Ohio State University will be 2-11 all-time against the SEC in bowl/playoff games.

It is interesting how a team that only lost by a total of 4 points total on the road got left out of the playoffs for a team that lost by 22 points at home.

It made me think, why did the committee pick Ohio state over Alabama?

Losses matter first. Margin of loss only factors in with equal records. Not that hard.

absolutely. Those 2 Ohio State national titles in the last 50 years, compared to Alabama's 10, is proof of that.

They win national titles at the same rate they beat SEC teams.

The Ohio State and it isn't even close. The main reason CBS dumped the SEC was to get Ohio State. The Alabama brand was not strong enough to prevent that.

Ohio State will still be standing tall long after the Saban era is over.

You are trying way, way too hard. If Alabama and OSU had identical records it would be OSU that would be watching the playoffs on TV. The fact that we're even having this discussion when Alabama has twice as many losses as OSU, in itself, speaks volumes.
