How does it feel now that Ole Miss won a title the year after MSU?

I know it slightly took the air of Auburn National Title in 2010 for me...when our biggest rival won it the next year...and the following...

It stung when Auburn blew it in 2013..

In all honesty, I thought it would make me feel worse. I don't care as much though, we still won one that no one can take away from us, and now Ole Miss has one. Pretty cool for little old Mississippi to have back-to-back national championships in any sport.

I think it's different because everyone always shits on Mississippi, we usually have each other's backs on this board unless we're going head to head.

It is pretty crazy that a state as small as Mississippi now has back to back titles with two different schools. Really impressive.

Agree. Had some friends who were there for the whole thing and glad they got to experience the same thing I got to with my kids last year. The CWS in itself is a one of a kind event and to be on the winning side just makes it that much better.

Same here as somebody said above and as I said on this board last year, it didn't bother me like I thought it would when State won it. Probably about the same for them this year.

I'd think both programs would view it well for the State.

I thought it was cool as shite when Bama/Auburn and the State of Alabama held football NC's for four straight years (almost 5 yrs.)

2009 Bama/2010 Auburn/2011 Bama/2012 Bama and damned if Auburn didn't make it to the NC again in 2013.

How does Alabama win? By dominating?

Ole Miss , Southern Miss and MSU are all 3 getting it done on the baseball diamond.

Ole Miss and State have obviously pulled ahead. If MSU can keep from finishing last in the conference so much they’ll become a perennial powerhouse.

I'd have to think this is a "doesn't matter, had sex" moment for the majority of their fanbase.

I’m happy for them. I may be in the minority but outside of good natured shite talking with my Ole Miss buddies on thanksgiving and one weekend in the spring, I don’t have much disdain at all towards them.

Now, if we hadn’t pulled it off last year it would be an entirely different story and I’d likely be melting

i would obviously prefer they didnt win, but i am eternally grateful that we won ours before they did. it would have been a tough pill to swallow had we not. that said, om baseball has the support that warrants this kind of success. they are consistently bringing in crowds of 10-12 K on big weekends. with that kind of support and investment in facilities, it was a matter of time before it paid-off. overall, im not too mad and in retrospect, a little relieved at the timing. the pressure to match theirs had they won it first would have been incredible.

Charmin soft fanbase as per usual.

Never have I seen another fanbase relish in the fact that another in-state team won a championship, ESPECIALLY their biggest rival.

Yes?

Well, my opinion is that I think it is pretty dang cool that two different Mississippi programs won it back to back. They have a title and now we do too. I don't see how ours takes away anything from them or how theirs takes anything away from us. It's just good for the state.
