Mississippi (the state) sets limits at 4-year extended agreements. Already been signed by Kiffin with base salary at: 7.5 mil with incentives at 10 mil and yearly increases thereafter.
He has carte blanche. Already has the Rebs relevant in SEC West race. He can reach 10 mil this year with certain achievements. 18-4 the last 2 years. Running game and QB returning next year.
Auburn? Anywhere else? Keep dreaming.

Way back then: My future alma mater, Sewanee, left the SEC after ten years when it was clear they were a bust. They are in Div. 3 these days and play teams like Millsaps. Success in the SEC is way in the past.

I have it on authority from Elon Musk that Auburn wants to be the first football team to play a game on the moon. After all, they have the money to do it.
You Auburn trolls need to get a life.

The right coach for any SEC West team can win a NC. Competition is that good. And with 12-team playoff coming, SEC teams with top coaching (whether still in divisions or not) have a great shot at a NC.
The past is irrelevant.

The Auburn posters on this thread are hilarious. And totally out of touch with who Kiffin is now and what he wants to accomplish at OM.
Keep jawing. Won't change anything.

Kiffin did not want to go anywhere last year.

Kiffin has no interference from boosters at OM. What he says goes. He can make up to 10 mil with incentives. His daughter came to live with him and is a senior in high school planning to enroll at OM. The Grove NIL Collective was just set up so that OM will be competitive with anyone in that area. Kiffin works the portal to perfection.
Auburn has no shot at Kiffin. No one does. He can accomplish his goals where he is. NY6 bowl in second year. Still in running for SEC West in his third. He doesn't need to go anywhere. And he won't.

The next coach at Bama will be in the shadow of two legends--the Bear and Saban. Whoever he is will need to realize that he must immediately win it all big.
Also: how many more lame 'Kiffin to Auburn' threads are we gonna have?

Des couldn't really have believed those picks. Just did it to be different. None of those four will make it, of course.
re: I might retire in downtown Oxford, MS

Actual population increased by 10,000 between 2010 and 2020 to 30,000. When students are there, population is over 50,000. Still booming, but growth is being managed well. Note: Oxford may now have the most roundabouts (traffic circles) of any town in the country. Very European idea.

re: Is Tennessee the only legit NC contender from the SEC?
Posted by sewaneerebel on 10/11/22 at 9:20 am
You clearly don't think so by your post, but in the next few weeks, we will find out about the following teams as playoff contenders: Bama, UGA, Tenn, Ole Miss and State. All five meet in various configurations that cannot be predicted at this point.
There is no slam dunk, I agree. But it is possible that at least two of these teams will be in contention for the playoffs after some of the smoke has cleared.

The turning point was giving away the A & M game. Never should have lost it.
re: In My Honest Opinion

Ole Miss has played in 10 Sugar Bowls, 5 Cotton Bowls, 2 Peach Bowls and 1 Orange Bowl--all part of today's NY6 events. 11-7 record overall in those matchups. 6 SEC football titles. Those are facts.

The football NC's were recognized by various legit sources back then: UPI, Grantland Rice, etc. No reason not to claim them.

He has definitely matured. 47 is not the same as 27 if you pay attention. He has a complete commitment from Ole Miss, and he will stay there.
