re: 2020 season is a wash. 2021 season LSU riding. - sewaneerebel
Still highly doubtful that the 2020 season will take place. Or it will be called after a couple of games. This is not doable. ...

re: Power Five Making The Right Decision - sewaneerebel
The post is not about Ole Miss. It is about the pandemic. Edit: Subject heading taken from SI article that the Power 5 would be meeting this week to seriously discuss postponing football and/or canceling the season. Big Ten reportedly leading the way. I didn't make this up. ...

Power Five Making The Right Decision - sewaneerebel
The season will be canceled. We can live for one season without football. We can't live with the virus out of control. I didn't see how we could play ball safely on the field or cheer from the stands and have said so in a couple of posts over the past few months. Priority: Not to have 300,000 l...

Time To Bite The Bullet On 2020 - sewaneerebel
Not only should the 2020 team sports season be cancelled in football and basketball, etc., but all schools should seriously consider continuing online classes only instead of on-campus attendance. We have not gotten the virus under control because of politics; and now the EU's 27 countries, which h...

re: NCAA and SEC are massive Hypocrites - sewaneerebel
The remnants of The Confederacy, whether flags or statues, belong in special museums. The CSA was an attempt to perpetuate slavery which was the fatal flaw of the USA from the beginning. No excuse for the institution by anyone living in any state or any other country. It's way past time to admi...

re: What's More Important? - sewaneerebel
Okay. Try this: Will college football be allowed to: 1) take place at all; 2) take place with no fans in the stands; 3)take place with limited fans in the stands; 4)take place as usual? Then: what is in the best interest of public health until we have a vaccine? Masking? Social distancing? Hand...

re: What's More Important? - sewaneerebel
What you don't seem to understand is that asymptomatic people who are younger and healthier can spread the virus to those in higher risk categories. It only takes one spreader to infect other populations. That so-called crowd in Tulsa is a perfect example: no social distancing, crowded into a spac...

PeeJayScammer: Not everyone in a red state voted red. Not everyone in a red state would have been caught dead in Tulsa. (Which could happen to some that were.) I have always taken the pandemic seriously from day one....

What's More Important? - sewaneerebel
Public health or football? The country hasn't seen such a health crisis since the polio pandemic; and before that the Spanish Flu. Is it safe to conduct team sports before large crowds? No. Without a vaccine, the health of the entire country is at risk. Football rivalries need to take a back...

re: Just give in Mississippi! - sewaneerebel
News flash: some of us who are Mississippians have opposed both the Confederate flag and the neo-Confederate state flag for long decades. Some of us did not vote for Trump, either. As for the football season, we may not even have one because of the pandemic, which is only getting worse. I don't...

re: NCAA officially votes, MS schools cannot host postseason of any kind - sewaneerebel
It would not win by that margin today. The current flag will be dumped, and rightly so. It will be done by the legislature. No more demagoging by racists who want to keep Mississippi 50th in all categories....

re: NCAA officially votes, MS schools cannot host postseason of any kind - sewaneerebel
Aw, hell no! There are many Mississippians who have never supported the current neo-Confederate flag and who also do not support Trump. The man claims the virus is 'miniscule' and dwindling everywhere. The exact opposite is true, particularly in Tulsa, Oklahoma. If anything, Trump is setting h...

Nah. Tigers are just fine. Although I'm not an LSU fan, I think their traditions are great. Auburn's are fine, too. I like their fight song. ...

I'm not an LSU fan, but Tigers is still just fine. However, if a change is needed Nutria would work as well as anything else, even if there aren't any purple and gold Nutria....

re: The Ole Miss Rebels - sewaneerebel
Ole Miss and USM have not flown the current Mississippi flag since 2015. They won't start again, either. Forget sports. The state needs a new, inclusive flag that represents all of its citizens. It is going to happen. A coalition of both Democrats and Republicans in the state congress will see t...

re: Does Ole Miss start off 2-5 this year? - sewaneerebel
His priority will be to give the team a real personality, as another poster suggested. Luke couldn't break through in the four close games that meant the difference between a 4-8 and 8-4 season. Kiffin inherits a great offense. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt in turning things around. ...

It won't take a miracle for OM to start off 4-3. Just a new HC who knows what to do with offensive talent. Kiffin is that man. ...

re: Does Ole Miss start off 2-5 this year? - sewaneerebel
HC is Dave Aranda, I believe. His first time as HC. Not Kiffin's. I did see two lines the other day on OM-Baylor, and they were conflicting. One had Baylor -2, and the other had OM, -2. Because it's a neutral field game, I'm not expecting lines much larger either way....
