re: How do we fix things?
Posted by DingLeeBerry on 3/13/26 at 11:53 am to deltaland
Our secret for success in basketball and football has always been to be a blue collar and grind it out type of team. Basketball hired the right coach for that then he either decided or someone decided for him that we needed to pursue offense and it bit us.
Football went with a finesse coach starting with Moorhead and has tanked ever since, with the exception of Leach coming in and slowing the downward spiral. He had that old school toughness about him, but even so we still tended toward more finesse type players.

13 year old females in an all-female facility? Why would anybody find troubling?
Something to do with the “all nude facility” part.

Not to derail and I appreciate his response and the intent, but does anybody else find it troubling that 13 year olds are in this facility, even absent the issue regarding tallywhackers?

The league just doesn't have the skill and athleticism that a lot of others have.
This season I’d watch some SEC on Saturday then flip to Fox for Big 10 and an ACC game later on ESPN. Big 10 and ACC were enjoyable to watch. The SEC was not.

I’d guess for some sort of military defense thing. I could envision a weapon to blast missiles. What could go wrong with a powerful laser aimed at earth controlled by robots?

But a quick google search shows minor leagues pay on avg $50,000 or so a year. Seems like you could fairly easily beat minor leagues with NIL?
And it’s not just the pay. Living in a dumpy motel or staying in a host home, bus rides, forced Spanish lessons and all the other aspects of lower level minor league life compared to college life.

My mother taught at a small southern private school, K-12 grade, and I went there for my whole K-12 education. I don't remember seeing girls physically fight. Ever. Not one time. Boys, yes. Especially in PE or in the context of sports when tempers might flare due to the competitive and physical nature of the activity. And the younger the grade, the more fights I can remember.
Same here. First time I saw a girl throw a punch was outside the cafeteria in college after I was exposed to a more diverse group of people. She jumped on her boyfriend. He didn’t fight back, just covered up and took it.

I’m sure the libs will call me a backwards hillbilly, but I won’t travel to a state that doesn’t reciprocate my state’s concealed carry. Just said no thanks to a work trip to Commiefornia.
