He took below average teams and made them slightly above average. A lot of people thought his weird ramblings were funny. Thats it.

My team was always on the other side of the field than his, but I respect the impact he has had on the sport.
Heck I always used his playbooks from Tech when I played NCAA on the PS2 in college.

No but he also never coached at a place that realistically could have. Same as bill Snyder. He’s a hof coach unquestionably for pulling ksu out of the worst program. Not all hof coaches have to have won a natty

nearly every major program and almost all of the NFL is running aspects of the offense he helped create.
he literally changed the way people approached and played the sport.
that innovation alone having such a huge impact is why he deserves to be in the HOF, no matter what his overall won/loss record was.

He did more for the game than Saban.
He changed the game with the offense. He was part of the massive change in how the game was played
Saban simply paid the most at the time. Saban showed the coach he was when talent was equal and not being purchased pre NIL.

Different types of artists get inducted in the country and rock hall of fames.
Mike Leach wasn't a good singer or musician but if college football had songwriters, Mike Leach should be in for that.

Not at all well. I am not saying that to knock his coaching abilities, though like flexbone coaches Leach could beat the brakes off a really good team and then lose to an FCS bottom feeder in the same season. Leach was a fantastic coach.
Leach's problem is that if he was at a "top notch" program he'd have tangled with big money boosters sooner rather than later and they would have taken the first opportunity to drive him off. He did not play well with others. You have to do that in a major program.
