Look if you go anything less than 75 on 85 you are going to get run over. Do simple math to figure time in route. I have made it to Hartsfield in that time period ( +- 5) mins.
With traffic in and around Atlanta being what it is, there’s no way that you’re driving 75-85 MPH within 25 miles of the city.

It has more to do with the convenience of your home or a sports bar vs the cost to go to a big SEC game these days. It’s so early in the season too. Just doesn’t sound appealing like a trip there in late October would be.
Say what you want but this is a national trend. People are sick of paying absurd amounts of money for tickets, parking, lodging etc.
I’d go if it were a little cheaper and not in September. Auburn seems like a cool town despite the arse hat who started this thread in an attempt to shite on UT & LSU fans.

Going 75-80 MPH from Auburn to Tyrone does not get you to Atlanta in 75 minutes. That's it. Bottom line. Any number of the 100,000 people who have regularly made that drive will say the same. So congrats on either (a) lying or (b) going way too fast and endangering everyone around you Speed Racer. You do you puppets.
I know the quality of an Alabama Education does lack at times, but give it a try:
Car A leaves Airport traveling 80 mph, he drives for one hour and 15 min. How far has Car A traveled in that time ?
p.s Auburn-Hartsfield is 103 miles. So figure it out with car traveling 85 mph.

I have been to every AU-LSU game in Auburn since the 1970s. (We lived in GA for 33 years) I pass this year. It's a good venue and town and the fans are good all around. But, I prefer new places or places we don't go every other year. I'll be at the Miami game on Sept 2. Football in air conditioning in September is the way to go.

I agree with you. It's tough to spend a weekend at a very over priced hotel (most hotels require two nights for game weekends and double the price) when you can watch the game on a 70" HDTV. I still try to get down for at least one game but it's tough.

(a) Pretty hilarious you've now retreated to Hartsfield. Before it was "Atlanta" and now it's the Airport.
(b) This is silly, as anywhere you go requires you to start off an interstate and finish off an interstate. So, if you start in downtown Auburn you will average 35-40 MPH for 3-4 miles, go an average of about 75-80 (even if you "mostly" go 80) and then go 35-40 once you get to the exit at Hartsfield for 1-2 miles.
All of those things plus the fact that 103 miles at 80 MPH is already 1 hour 17 minutes. Tack on the 10 extra minutes (being lenient) for the things just noted above and it AT BEST a 90 minute drive, and as noted, you can only make it there in 75 minutes if you drive 85-90 the whole way and hit every light getting on the interstate and speed into an immediate lot. AND THAT'S JUST THE AIRPORT.
Jeebus you are a stubborn old mule.

Its not just LSU that's poor, but their fans too

I actually don’t mind Auburn fans that’s why I think a trip there would be pleasant. Y’all are friendly and realistic unlike some other A hole fan bases in the SEC. maybe sometime but I doubt this year. The SEC needs to shake up the schedules so we can matchup later in the year when it’s nicer outside.
I know you boys love coming to the boot to squeeze in a nola trip. I look forward to Auburn every year because it’s usually a good entertaining game.

That is because Hartsfield is the only place in Atlanta worth the risk of driving 85 mph to get to. The rest of the city is just a poor man's Dallas. Sooner you get there, the sooner you want to leave.

If you look right now, there are plenty of single game tix available for the Arkansas and A&M game but none for sale for the LSU or Tennessee game.
I get the feeling the OP isn't telling us the whole story. That would never happen on the SEC Rant though, amirite?

Single Game Tickets
Single game tickets will go on sale in early July. The LSU & Tennessee games are not likely to be available as single game tickets.

Nobody wants to go to Auburn, and that has nothing to do with football.
Mostly they don't go because of the smell.

As bad as I hate to say it, auburn crushes LSU and will beat Tennessee. Their fans seem to know it too. LSU is done for a few years but IT will win some in the next few years.

No Auburn hate here-but the days of SEC road trips are dwindling. I think Auburn has great uniforms, a cool pregame vibe, a great fight song, -I've always liked the whole deal. But really, who travels to games anymore? I mean, I have enough home games and I have a nice tv, and Mrs Pimp always cooks and I don't have to spend 500 bucks.
