Yes, I disagree with you that the airport adds enough numbers to push it past NO as a more popular tourist destination. I agree that the airport probably inflates some numbers but not to the degree that NO is actually more popular were you to remove the people who only visit ATL on a connecting flight.

People who fly into the ATL airport to stay in Atlanta are visitors.

People who fly into Atlanta to fly/drive OUT of Atlanta are not visitors, they are transients.

Calling transients “visitors” is like saying I “visited” Gaffney SC earlier this week when I drove I-85 from Atlanta to Charlotte.

I think Auburn has one of the best stadium environments in the nation but as I've gotten older I just don't travel to away games like I used to.

Leave it to Puppets to die on the "Auburn is 1 hr 15 minutes from Atlanta" hill.

Go ahead and crowd source that puppy. I guarantee you zero other human beings agree with it.

When I was in school at AU in the early 90's I could make the drive from Huntsville to Auburn in 2.5 hours and this was when hwy 280 from B'ham to Opelika was all 2 lane once you got out of Mt Brook.

Of course my car never saw under 100 on the hwy and was usually going 110-115. Wish I still had that car! It was a 1985 Honda Prelude and I could make that drive going that fast the whole way and only burn up a quarter of a tank of gas.

LSU & Tenn return ticket allotment to Auburn due to lack of support from the two fanbases

Tennessee is in year 1 and can't generate enough support for an away game that could be a spark of Pruitt's tenure?

I skimmed 3 pages, I'm not reading all damn 7, but Tennessee returned some of their UGA allotment as well. Season ticket holders were notiriced this week that extras for UT and GT would be on sale (which as you mentioned, only happens if they don't sell out their portion).

This happens eveyr year for the MTSU, Vandy, ULM's, etc of the world, but I've never seen a big 6 school not sell out their allotment for our game.

0.1% of people would tell you it takes 75 minutes to get from Atlanta to Auburn or visa versa.........on a Sunday at 8 AM. Because it doesn't. Perhaps you go 90 MPH between Opelika and Newnan, but even then you'll be hard pressed to get to the Airport in 75 minutes.

It takes me 2 hours to get from my driveway, in Cumming, to parked in Auburn at my friends house a block from campus. Its almost on the dot every time. You can easily pass ATL airport from Auburn in under 1.5 hrs from Auburn. I make this drive quite often and have done so for years

Not sure if still the same case, but we used to even give the same allotment to UT that we do UGA and Bama. Which is a lot more than the usual SEC team

Drive to Auburn a location where there are no hotel rooms. Activities consist of ordering a lemonade at a hyped drug store and dining at Chick fil A.

If it is a night game it is even worse.

Went in 2012 and had to get a hotel in a neighboring state.

Why would you do that?

Google just told me its 99 miles from a residence right next to campus to the Airport. Tell me that takes you an 1 hour and 42 minutes. I like how everyone glosses over peoples actual accounts of doing the drive first hand

Or 8 of the last 11. I’d say that’s pretty regularly

That just means an average speed of 58 MPH. That doesn't seem unreasonable at all.

Its all interstate, headed to ATL, that is very unreasonable

You might get pulled over for that

It's average speed. All it takes is a few stop lights in town to bring it down from 65-70 into the 50s.

That’s not an unusual average running speed for an urban interstate with heavy traffic volumes.

I dont think you understand. its like 2 miles off highway and there really arent that many lights on the 45-55 mph. If you are going 75 or under on 85, you will be run off the road.
2 mile road.

If it took that long you would have to have heavy traffic. I make this drive 7-8 times in the fall and about 1-2 times a month beyond that. In fact Ill be doing it Saturday
