In before a bunch of people post "pods" without a clue on why such a system would never work.
It's impossible to get all the yearly rival games played with pods.
Oh wait...

8 Games.
Pods.
One permanent opponent not in your pod(for some teams)
Cotton Pod
Arkansas
Oklahoma
Mizzou
tu(permanent A&M)
Magnolia Pod
Ole Miss(permanent State)
LSU
Texas A&M(permanent tu)
Vanderbilt(permanent UT)
Dixie Pod
Alabama(permanent Auburn)
Tennessee(permanent Vandy)
Mississippi State(permanent Ole Miss)
Kentucky
Peach Pod
Auburn(Permanent Alabama)
Georgia
Florida
South Carolina
The 8 teams without permanent opponents rotate with each other. When your permanent out of pod opponent is in your pod, you can play a secondary designated opponent(like Bama and LSU).
Year 1
Division A = Cotton + Magnolia
Division B = Dixie + Peach
Year 2
Division A = Cotton + Dixie
Division B = Magnolia + Peach
Year 3
Division A = Cotton + Peach
Division B = Dixie + Magnolia
REASONS TO DO IT LIKE THIS.
8 conference games.
Everyone plays everyone in 3 years.
Rivalries protected.
So. fricking. Simple.

Miami and Charlotte are both big time southern city markets that are just as close to SEC fan bases
You serious Clark? There is no SEC team in North Carolina. Let's just spend some money in ACC land.
Nothing is close to Miami. Cuba is closer to Miami than any SEC school

For example on the secondary permanent opponent. Georgia and Tennessee could play every 2 out every 3 years.

No divisions, no pods. Play a 9 game schedule. Each teams has 3 permanent opponents, and you rotate the other 12, six one year, and the other six the next (so that if one of your rotating opponents has a once in a generation player that only stars for two years, everyone gets to see them). You play everyone in the league home and away over a four year span (that won’t happen with pods because they will have to incorporate permanent rivals in other pods to ensure that Bama/Auburn, Auburn/Georgia, Georgia/Florida, and Bama/UT get played every year, which means it will take 6 years to play everyone home and home). The must play games are preserved and some old rivalries that stopped because of divisional play can be resumed.

Similar to what is being proposed in the pod system. You and your 3 permanent opponents would constitute a 4 team pod for scheduling purposes.
The next piece is to figure out who goes to the championship game without divisions. A lot of ways to structure that. You could even have two 4 team pods within each division.

Why don't you suggest a better idea?

Just add them to the west and slide Alabama and Auburn over the the east. Flip Mizzou to the west.
That's the easiest and most logical solution.

likely the Big XII unless you have an ACC rival.
I think the SEC should deliberately schedule as many new B12 teams as possible to send a message to “The Alliance” that they ain’t shite and the SEC prefers to share its money with the B12.
