It's actually very simple and straightforward. There's not much HS talent in TN compared to Alabama, Georgia, Louisianna, Florida and even Mississippi. They thrived when UGA wasn't closing on the kids in Georgia back in the 90's. When UGA killed the pipeline of HS talent to UT, it collapsed. NIL can turn things around though. They are a dedicated fanbase.
This is simply bullshite. TN is growing in population every year, and there are more and more HS programs in Tennessee that pump out SEC quality players, hell Chattanooga alone in the last 10 years has grown massively in terms of the type of program and the type of player that it produces and we’re still levels behind the midstate, which has fed a lot of programs in the SEC and even elite programs. Tennessee just hasnt been able to take advantage of this. What happened from 08 to 21 wasnt recruiting, that was administration and awful coaching hires, but 8-10 wins is about the best we can hope for if we cant develop or recruit better. But you could say that about every team in the SEC bar Georgia and Texas, and maybe Florida in a year or two. Mississippi HS football is not deeper than Tennessee HS football. It has like half the population at best, and they dont have the resources
Do away with conferences as they are now. There are what, 60-70 p4 teams, add a couple of g5 teams yo get to 72, divide into 8 9-team regional divisions, have an 8 game conference schedule and two rotating out of division opponents, top two in each division plays for the division title, then the 8 division champs get into the playoff. Add in two preseason exhibition games against g5 teams that dont count for shite but help teams dial in for the season. Everybody under one roof so money spreads equally, and we go back to regional play and rivalries which made college football special in the first place.

Kiffin seems to be doing pretty well at Ole Miss…why was it so difficult for him at Tennessee? I think football recruiting at a high level has been difficult for the vols…poor instate talent but that’s not the whole story

It wasnt? If he stayed at Tennessee he would have went 9-3 in 2010. The East was godawful and he beats LSU that year. Then who knows what happens once we get momentum.
Yeah, we gonna have to decide to actually develop him instead of making him make our offense go, whether its working or not.
30 years of bad administration and leadership will do that sort of thing. These past four years have been the first period since i was a preteen that the athletic department was genuinely committed to competing in football, instead of just signing a check and praying that the rabid fanbase would keep them in the black. Danny White has knocked it out of the park with pretty much every sport but the legacy ones at Tennessee, and he might have fixed Womens BB with this last hire. Its possible to take the next step, but there needs to be staff changes and Im sure Danny White understands that.

We got exposed last night. Our OL play has been awful and our WRs havent been developed at all, which is probaly why three of them portaled out. Defense looked good but benefited from a bad schedule. Nico was the only one who really looked up for the moment at any point in that game yesterday and it was for about 20 minutes. Staff changes need to be made if we wanna be anything more than a middling SEC team.

Dude… y’all beat Tennessee. Credit where credit is due, and y’all have a really good team this year. BUT, DUDE… y’all beat Tennessee.

About like we beat yall at home the last time we met up
Cause they had to put someone in

The Heisman is a joke. Runs on pure hype. The only real deserving player to win it in the last 10 years was Joe Burrow.
Have you ever talked with a PSU fan? They have no shame about their lack of understanding of how football, and the world at large, works. I still remember the time i had to argue with a forum full of them for weeks leading up to the 06-07 title game because they thought Florida didnt deserve to be there

No one seems to care much about that anymore. My team is in Atlanta but all I'm thinking about is the playoffs.

Thats why i cant rock with this new playoff. To play for an SEC title should mean more, imo. Just because the conference title should mean something
Staffs make or break your hire.

Dude went 2 or 3 games without scoring a touchdown. The casuals are always easy to spot.

He won, and he’s playing for a title

Then you’re absolutely an idiot.

No big wins, no clutch plays, less yards and TDs than Nix, did not play for any titles. More INTs than Nix. Only won it because the PAC wasn’t on primetime TV. East coast bias.

Lol. And who do you think was?

Penix
Travis

I mean Daniels was the best player in CFB this year.

He wasn’t. I’d argue that he wasn’t even the third best.
Heisman odds in January are about the most useless tidbits of news that college football has. The award is purely a popularity contest anyways. They haven’t gotten it right since Joe B, and with the voters being as disconnected as they are currently, this is just the typical media attempt to inflate things for views and drama for the season. Dart being under 3 freshman who barely played is laughable, for one, and then you have tons of guys who aren’t on that list that will be more important to their teams success.

Kiffin was the QB whisperer at USC.
Honestly this doesn’t look much different from what we’re used to
The biggest theft in the history of the award occurred back in the 90’s or Tennessee would have one.

Honestly not even the biggest theft out of the Tennessee players. Majors should have won the Heisman.
