If you move Bama and Auburn to the east you can have a rotating schedule to make sure everyone in the sec plays everyone within a four year period but it won’t be a home and home like it used to be before the addition of aTm and Missouri.

It wouldn’t just be the other pods crying foul. I just saw a court case on YouTube where Tennessee was suing to stop playing you guys every year

Personally, I like the Pod System. It's unique and intriguing. The Pod System would be grouped together by geographic considerations; yet, it would allow for traditional matchups w/crossover games that wouldn't be lost.

The SECCG could rotate between two cities:

ATLANTA, home to the College Football Hall of Fame, and DALLAS.

POD A - EAST

- FLORIDA
- GEORGIA
- KENTUCKY
- SOUTH CAROLINA

POD B - EAST

- ALABAMA
- AUBURN
- TENNESSEE
- VANDERBILT

POD C - WEST

- LSU
- MISSISSIPPI
- MISSISSIPPI STATE
- TEXAS A&M

POD D - WEST

- ARKANSAS
- MISSOURI
- OKLAHOMA
- TEXAS

Personally I’d go no divisions..
3 rivals - rotate 6.. you play a home and home at least once with every team at least once in 4 years…

Best 2 records play for SECCG

BAMA - AU, UT, LSU
ARK - USC, MIZZ, TEXAS
AU - BAMA, UGA, UF
UF - UGA, AU, UK
UGA - UF, AU, USC
UK - UT, UF, VU
LSU - A&M, BAMA, OM
OM - LSU, MSU, VU
MSU - OM, USC, OU
MIZZ - ARK, OU, TEXAS
OU - TEXAS, MIZZ, MSU
USC - ARK, UGA, MSU
UT - BAMA, UK, VU
TEXAS - OU, A&M, MIZZ
A&M - LSU, TEXAS, ARK
VU - UT, UK, OM

I know some will be like those suck, but when you take into account the rivals in Bold that you know will be played yearly, there aren't many options.

My line of thinking is (I’m drinking - don’t judge, I have the week off) why not north and south divisions? East and west, north and south, what’s the difference? Someone sober tell me what this would do to preserve rivalries as opposed to east/west.

The problem with having a championship game is Dallas is there is no decent stadium in Dallas.

well there is a time zone thing, it’s 1 hour but still it gives a bit of a natural separation

I know being a UGA fan you LOVE Atlanta being the SEC championship location, but yes Miami and Charlotte are both big time southern city markets that are just as close to SEC fan bases

Miami is 350 miles from the CLOSEST SEC school and another 275 to the next closest (Auburn). It's over 1,000 to Mizzou, aTm, OU, TU and 800 or more from Arky, LSU, Kentucky.

Perhaps you need a new Rand McNally road atlas.

Naw. The other Power 5 teams are going to 8 game schedules. That’s a must. Maintain out of conference rivalries and allow other OOC matchups. It makes no sense to go to 9 games. 8 is much better.

Yeah, Miami and Charlotte are centrally located in the conference, especially Miami.

I know balancing pods isn't easy but Bama and LSU would have cakewalks many years.

Pod 1:

Florida-Georgia-Alabama-Auburn

Pod 2:

Tennessee-South Carolina-Mizzou-LSU

Pod 3:

State-Ole Miss-Kentucky-Vanderbilt

Pod 4:

Arkansas-Texas-A&M-Oklahoma

This is clearly the fairest way to do it.

Stick us with two A&M's? No thanks, AR is bad enough already and at least they're close enough not to require a plane ride. We'll stick with them.

Wouldn't UGA, Auburn, Florida and USCe make better sense?

The Iron Bowl could still be played every year.
