On Marty and McGee just now, talked about how people said he could’ve stayed at Ole Miss and had a statue built for him for their success, and how he didn’t like those low expectations and standards.

Ole Miss def has lower standards then LSU. Not Tenn or Tenn though prob(think they both expect around the same). Ole Miss is very much the odd-man standing in his coaching tree.

USC
Tenn
LSU

Ole Miss

With the exception of one psychotic OM poster, they've pretty much toned it down. Let's try to do the same.

You might want to look up your coaches past history . . . The “USC” he referred to was Southern Cal not South Carolina. Kiffin never coached at SC.

Serious question: How is having a statue built equate to “low expectations and standards?”

Granted, if he fell on his face at OM, and years later they still gave him a statue, I can see how his remarks would be valid. But not at this point. He could have stayed and might have won the CFP for all we know. I’d not say those were low goals. But, hey, he knows OM better than we do . . . .

Sure if the expectation was for OM to sell 10% of its soul to private equity.

Yep Lane knows it will be a failure this season if he doesn't win it all since they have the most expensive roster in college. Championship or bust for Lane just like it was for LSU going into 2019.

Felt all caged up, did you? Always spinning your wheels and never getting any place? Bet it left you thinking, “I don’t know what she seed in me . . . .”
