I would have figured they’d keep Arkansas Ole Miss just because the game is almost always entertaining (last year excluded).

No kidding. Anybody you know ever take a vacation to Oklahoma? I've never known a single person to do that. For what? To visit Oral Roberts U? I don't blame Lane for not being exactly thrilled to go to Norman every other year.

And no more Big 12 patsies to beat up on. Had to be gifted a home win vs. Auburn. That is a red flag.

Someone should point out to Lane Mississippi and Oklahoma have a LOT in common, from the low ranking of the public education system in both states, to similar rates of obesity, gun ownership, consumption of alcohol. Heck, practically cousins.

And both are home to the Choctaw Indian tribe

Agreed. This would have made more sense logistically and traditionally as Norman is just...what? Whatever formula Sankey claims they used was him sitting in his office drawing lines to the teams after the rivalry games were all satisfied.

The truth is only one permanent team is going to rotate out in four years because they're not going to shake up the traditional rivalries. They're not. You're telling me the Red River is over in 4 years? The Iron Bowl is moving on? The World's largest outdoor cocktail party is cancelled? Georgia and Auburn have been playing since 1892. Please. Sankey needs to cut the shite.

He can suck it up. At least he wasn't forced into a trophy game "rivalry" with a team his school had played a grand total of 5 times prior.

Maybe we can incorporate some Choctaw iconography into the as-yet-to-be-determined trophy that will be a symbol of this "rivalry".

Both are well ahead of Louisiana, which I believe is actually dead last.

The Golden Slot Machine can be the trophy.

I would have liked Arkansas. Proximity with some overlapping fan clusters makes some sense, but there's not much history between the two. They stopped scheduling each other about a century ago and have only met in a couple of bowl games.

Yeah, Oklahoma is really disappointing. We don’t have anything in common with them or our fans, so that doesn’t make any sense at all.

I am happy that the SEC has now gotten to know our ridiculous little brother aggy first hand for over 10 years now. There would have been no way we could have verbally explained aggy to SEC fans otherwise.

Likewise, the OU land thieves have been a thorn in our Texas sides for my entire lifetime, and I’m now a grandpa. I’m equally happy to share these cheaters with the rest of the SEC first hand.

Ole Miss needs to just toughen up. Learning to survive hearing “Boomer Sooner” every fricking 5 minutes during every fricking Sooner game in every fricking year of Ole Miss fans’ remaining lifetimes will be good for them…. Don’t worry, Ole Miss fans don’t even need to thank us…

He's right - it would have made more sense to have kept Arkansas instead of Oklahoma.
Would have made more sense to have not let them and Texas into the SEC. Surely Ole Miss had a vote or did Sankey railroad it?

OU already has an automatic W with Mizzou every year so Arkansas would have been two patsies

At least Ole Miss will win 3-4 out of every 10
