As the most hated college football coach by Sooners it would take a some doing to get him back in Norman even if he were willing to accept a demotion to be with a Power 4 team.
The guy's a helluva a play caller and QB whisperer though his penchant for running gadget plays drove Sooner fans mad since they were essentially a toss-up.
I suppose Oklahoma could hire him as an OC if his contract included a massive penalty for leaving before the end of a season (USC paid a buyout of $4.5 million to OU in addition to the $10 million they paid him).
On paper it would make Oklahoma a formidable team, his offense and Venable's defense.

In one way Oklahoma has already spoiled Georgia's season, costing them an appearance by College GameDay which would have been in Athens had OU beaten UM but is now heading for Knoxville.

we always manage to struggle about mid-season in a game we should run away with. Hoping this is NOT that game this season.

Usually a coach will have a single trooper beside them if they have any at all. There must have been at least 8 troopers and other security personnel around Laney.
I expect OU @ UGA is going to be a blowout when it is all said and done.

Per multiple reports, Leavitt has been limited in practice so far this week. However, ESPN reported Thursday morning that the coaching staff at Ole Miss was skeptical of the severity of Leavitt's injury and expected him to play on Saturday.
SEC rules allow the conference to fine a school and even punish a head coach for inaccurate injury reports. Injury report shenanigans "intended to hide a student-athlete's true participation status for competitive or strategic reasons" are not allowed.

As a Sooner I was disappointed in the outcome of the OU @ UM game but I can take some solace knowing Brent Venables at 1-1 on the season has the same record as Ryan Day and Dan Lanning.
