If Adrian Peterson's best season (1,925 yards, 15 TD's) had been his last instead of his first he surely would have won.

Being left on the decoy plane told her exactly how much her efforts were valued by the boss.
re: All-time records vs ranked opponents

Without reordering them here's how it looks just counting the number of times a school played a ranked opponent.
1. Alabama (163-158-12)- 333
2. Ohio State (134-143-12)- 289
3. Oklahoma (134-158-6)- 298
4. Notre Dame (142-179-9)- 330
5. USC (126-171-10)- 307
6. Florida State (92-133-3)- 228
7. Michigan (121-179-8)- 308
8. Texas (118-185-5)- 308
9. Penn State (101-165-5)- 271
10. Georgia (107-184-9)- 300
11. Tennessee (100-191-15)- 306
12. Miami (91-169-2)- 262
13. Florida (109-214-6)- 329
14. LSU (104-207-9)- 320
15. Auburn (96-209-8)- 313
16. Nebraska (83-188-4)- 275
17. Clemson (65-162-2)- 229
18. UCLA (75-196-14)- 285
19. Georgia Tech (74-202-6)- 282
20. Oregon (63-177-3)- 243
21. Washington (69-198-6)- 273
22. Michigan State (71-211-3)- 285
23. Ole Miss (63-189-4)- 256
24. TCU (50-186-7)- 243
25. Texas A&M (64-231-3)- 298
26. Arkansas (61-224-5)- 290
Data like this begs for multiple ways to sort it. There is the 100-win club, the played-300-games club then there is bama which is the only one with a winning record vs. ranked opponents :(.

This is rich, we are two weeks from the first kickoff and the craziness is already in full swing.
What heights (or lows in this instance) can we not hit?

After watching Leavitt . . . is going to be dangerous.

re: Since 2020 SEC Programs Have Spent Over $300 Million on Coaching Buyouts

Not on OP's list but texas paid Tom Herman $15 million, $24 million counting his staff.
If Oklahoma fires Venables after 2026, something I don't foresee happening, his buyout will be $26.2 million.
On the other side, either Lincoln Riley or USC had to pay OU $4.5 million.

re: Miami's 2026 schedule - the worst in the country among realistic title contenders?

So with a favorable schedule and not having to face Ohio State Penn State will finally get a playoff berth or they lose a couple they shouldn't and don't, neither outcome would surprise me.
Matt Campbell was the Big Fish at Iowa State, playing penny ante poker and winning more than he lost.
Now he is at the 100-dollar-a-chip table and banking on being able to take his coaching to the next level but he cannot afford to lose.
Maybe Iowa State wasn't such a bad gig after all.

Your argument makes so much sense. I wonder why you weren't allowed to join Debate Club in high school? Just curious.

You got some of the facts right but it was 28-7 after the first quarter. Early in the second quarter OU faced a 4th and short from the Sooner 34-yard line. Riley inserted Williams who took the snap and ran through the left side of the line untouched, then angled to the right and outran the texas defenders to the endzone to make it 28-14. Riley left Williams in for the rest of the game. It was a wild second quarter with both teams scoring but whorns went into the lockerroom leading 38-20. Oklahoma scored 35 points in the second half to texas' 10 and won 55-48.

re: Which under the radar game are you most excited for?

This game will be played in late November. If both teams come in with 8 or more wins it won't be under anyone's radar because the winner will still have a shot at making the CFP.
Making somewhere between ‘8 and 10 million$ means CFB is his career…. He will try for a 5 year or longer career……
No doubt. Facing a pass rush of the best college team he will face is nowhere near as terrifying as facing a pass rush from any NFL team.

I agree with your UM assessment. Have no idea what to make of texas but better to play them early in October than November. FTR, A&M looks scarier to me than every game on the schedule except Georgia.
No argument here, whornie. AD ran for over 1900 yards his freshman season, we expected greatness and it didn't happen. We can only imagine how much he might have accomplished had he stuck around for 2007 and played with Sam Bradford.

Forget any individual post season award Manning might win, if Texas does not win a National Championship with him at QB, his college career and Sarkisian's coaching will be deemed a failure.
