$1.3 billion. College Station opens door to Hamas lovers. What's next? Maduro gives A&M drug money for a campus in Caracas?
Man, the 3 ball for the Gators ain't there. 2-14? Yikes. Lee and Boogie don't look like the scorers Clayton and Richard were.
It's all Napoleonic law there. And pork barrel politics reigns.

Great double entendre there with "work."

Auburn, yes, Auburn hung 38 on Vandy. Missouri managed 10. Drinkwitz is an offensive genius, I tell you.
And with their starting QB still in the game in the 3rd quarter, the Tigers had 3 whole points. So forget the injured QB excuse. There is no doubt in my mind that Drinkwitz has been meddling with the offense. He always thinks he knows better. And Moore was great his first year as OC.
Enough already.
Some Missouri fans are just delusional at this point regarding Drinkwitz and the ceiling he has already hit.

He just needs a QB that can stay healthy.
He needs a lot more than that. He needs a better OLine and secondary. And a much better QBs coach and OC.
Or perhaps he's been meddling with the offense again. It would seem that way because Moore was very effective his first year as OC at Missouri. He also needs a new STs coach if he's going to call for fake punts that end up not working. That call in Missouri territory tilted the game vs. Bama.

Drinkwitz is making far too much money for a coach who has never scored a signature win in the SEC. $9 million could land a coach who's better than he is. And beyond his own game day coaching, his OC is not producing, and special teams have never been special under Drinkwitz. There are far too many flaws for a guy making $9 million.
And as I said, Missouri cannot afford to fire him now. But if he gets an offer elsewhere, Missouri should not stand in his way. It's high time to expect better from the football program.

You're the crazy one. You're the one who wants to keep doing the same thing over and over and over again and expecting a different result. That is the definition of insanity. He has never scored a signature win in the SEC. And I'm not saying to fire him. I'm only hoping he moves on. And as for all these other schools looking for the next coach, many of the top names are not looking for diamonds in the rough like Cignetti and Elko.
The bar needs to be raised to the next level at Missouri. I give him credit for raising the program to this level. I do not think he's the guy to take it to the next level. You're happy with just beating the teams Missouri is supposed to beat? I'm not. He is being paid at an elite level. It's time to get an elite coach for that kind of money.

You don't have a clue. There is no $29 million buyout if he leaves for another job. That's what my OP says. And it also says Missouri is not going to fire him because of that $29 million buyout if he is canned.
quote:
Who are you going to hire that's better?
That's always hard to say. Was anybody on this forum fired up when the Aggies hired Elko or Indiana hired Cignetti? I don't recall any of that.
All I know is that in nearly 6 years, Drinkwitz has yet to net a signature win in the SEC. Why should that be acceptable anywhere?
quote:
It’s not all about having the money to recruit and coaching. It’s also how the coach fit in the school’s culture. Elko fit in A&M’s culture like a glove. The same goes for Cignetti at Indiana.
What? Indiana didn't have any football culture. Cignetti created the culture.

As a long time Mizzou fan, I 100% disagree.
Show me even 1 good win this year. There aren't any, and the schedule toughens up next year.

Well, your pussy QB could've taken the matter out of the refs' hands by going down head first of sliding. That was not a winning play.

I think he's a really, really good coach.
Of course, you do. 79-27 over him the last 2 years.

Indiana is one thing. But you think Missouri has the same finances as A&M? Coaching is one thing. But NIL and portal are another.
Jimbo couldn't do it with all the money in the world and top recruiting classes. Elko came out of nowhere, not from a title at another school.

Know who always had starters on special teams? Saban
 at comparing Drinkwitz to Saban. And I have no problem with starters on special teams, but not the skinny kicker.
And Saban didn't have to worry as much about FGs as his teams scored plenty of TDs. Get real, man.
Also, Saban could stockpile 5* talent 3 deep. So he didn't have to care as much about injuries on STs. So again, don't compare blueberries with cantaloupes.

Kudos to him for rescuing the program from Barry Odom and raising its level to where it is now and improving facilities. But he is not the guy to take it to the next level.
And many Missouri fans have seen guys like Elko and Cignetti, relative no-names just like Drinkwitz, accomplish far more in far less time. This was year 6, and he still has not recorded a signature win in the SEC.
So here's hoping he takes another job. His buyout if he leaves by the end of the year is $5 million, so it's far from prohibitive for another school wanting his services. On the other hand, if Missouri fires him in a month, which ain't gonna happen, he would be owed about $29 million.
If A&M and Indiana can get to the next level, so can Missouri under the right coach. He is a decent recruiter, but he is not a good game day coach.
Just this year, he and his staff cost the Tigers 2 key players in kicker Blake Craig and QB Sam Horn, who was competing with Pribula for the starter's role when he got hurt against Central Arkansas in Game 1 on one of the dumbest calls of the year. He's a pocket passer, and he was inserted in the that game for his 1st play in a wildcat formation with Pribula at his side for a run up the gut that wiped out his knee and ended his season. Big loss as Pribula got hurt later running into a goal line pile while stud RBs Hardy and Roberts go no touches in that failed goal series. So the Tigers were left with a 3rd string QB, a freshman with zero experience, to close out a must-win game at Vandy and start a must-win game vs. aTm.
And Craig also was lost for the season in that same Game 1 covering a stupid a** kickoff. Other, smart coaches give the kickoff assignment to the backups. There was also his fake punt that went nowhere against Bama in a tight game and gave Bama a short field for the decisive TD. He's not the sharpest tool in the shed.
And those are just the tip of the iceberg during his 6 years here. More to come if he stays. So please, Arkansas take your home boy home! Or any other desperate program. I've seen enough.

Look here, everyone. We have a theologian sermonizing and swearing. Interesting. Probably got those four degrees from the University of Phoenix. But hey, everyone has to start somewhere.
