And now you are getting to LSU’s position on the situation.

You are writing a very narrow definition of who is and isn’t a pro to specifically exclude the players who were interested in going to LSU, but not the rest of the players looking to transition from NFL camps back to college.

That looks less like a neutral eligibility rule and more like coordinated, exclusionary conduct that raises serious antitrust concerns.

oh, that's the SEC rule that is clearly stated. ONLY contracts of employment. i never saw that language. the one i saw said contracts, or decided to move on.

none of us are arguing how stupid most of this is, we're simply pointing out the lack of definition from the SEC, lack of enforcement from the SEC, and the SEC's willingness to adhere to some TRO's, and not others, while also modifying their definition of "professional athlete" along the way. we all see it, y'all just want to pile on us, which is awesome, and we just want to point out the hypocrisy.

He entered the draft, that was the standard for years.

The draft had nothing to do with eligibility(unless you were out of eligibility). One could even declare early and come back as long as they did not sign with an agent.

by this "im going to act retarded" arugement you are using, the Cole Hutson, webb, the DB from UK, the Missour and OK linemen, etc.

all signed waivers and got payment from the NFL, Which according to the SEC leadership that would mean those schools should be kicked out.

i get you all just hate LSU and Kiffin, but you are giving the conference the power to be judge jurry and executioner, with no due procces. if you are that dumb then idk what to tell you. right now or at least 2 weeks ago your schools football program was untouchable. not so much anymore.

again..... hinged on the fact that those two players had to make the NFL roster. that matters not because of me or my thoughts but because of what the SEC leadership said in a court.

Then we have 100's of ineligible players all over the country playing. When a college senior is out of eligibility they are automatically entered into the draft.

The NCAA gave him 1 more year of eligibility because of the court order, he meet all NCAA and SEC eligibility requirements and was granted eligibility through the SEC.
And the court orders are fricking up college athletics.

My delineation is easy to maintain, whether through choice (declaration) or entrance once out of eligibility, once the player enters the draft, he forfeits any and all ability to play further football in the college leagues.

It is how it was for decades.

So for the LSU weirdos that cant find the delineation mark of eligibility it is clearly the contract. Junior is literally on your team right now, idiots.

That "delineation mark" was invented as a part of this 5 for 5 disaster. It is arbitrary and unfair to some of that class of player that was created.

It isn't LSU that is trying to create a delineation. That's your side.

Ok.

My discussion is regarding how it should be, not how it is.

How it is is currently screwed up beyond repair, so I wouldn’t use the current system as your hill to die on.

This is what happened.

Those against LSU are lined up citing numerous things that Sankey hasn’t mentioned. Most don’t seem to be able to discuss it rationally and many LSU fans are no better.

The Whataboutism is the real issue in these rules. The SEC put hard lines down then lawsuits started

Missouri’s lawsuit to allow a former college athlete to return occurred before LSU’s. In that lawsuit Missouri had the SEC and their school enjoined so the Chancellor couldn’t intervene.

Ole Miss’ lawsuit to get a 6th year of eligibility for Chambliss enjoined the SEC as well.

Both players were denied by the NCAAand both predate any filing by athletes in Baton Rouge (40 total athletes most not associated with LSU).

The big difference was Missouri and Ole Miss were single athletes who were denied by NCAA, backed by their programs, encouraged to sue the NCAA and back door the SEC at the end and have them enjoined.

Why?

Just because a player isn’t good enough for the NFL and goes undrafted doesn’t mean he should be allowed to continue playing in college.

If in the prior year Sankey told a fellow charter member that professionals are not meant to play in college sports and Vandy tried to bring Pavia back then Vandy would be getting same treatment.

Does not matter, precedent is set and that is more than enough to bring before a court at any level.
