I'm not defending his stance on the trophy; I'm simply responding to the idea that somehow he's influence on the subject is diminished due to the fact that he failed to win a national title that year.
I haven't been following the story and have no idea WHY he's doing it, but short of someone at LSU first doing something incredibly egregious I don't get it or agree with it.
Maybe educate yourself on reading what I posted and what I was replying to instead of going off half-cocked.

This couldn't be further from the truth. Burrow has embraced LSU and Baton Rouge several orders of magnitude more than Daniels. Still always mentions LSU, cried about Coach O in his Heisman ceremony, etc.
He's beloved not just for his time on the field, but also how he connected with our fans.
Daniels was a great player. But he has never pretended to give a shite about LSU or the fans.

Cant believe I am defending LSU here but this kid is coming off as not worth it. Didnt even win a natty he is getting pretty arrogant if his true ask is he wanted his number retired and never used and since LSU didnt oblige he is throwing a tantrum
