The team that comes out of the lower right (Texas/Oregon/Georgia/State) is going to be the favorite.
The team that comes out of the upper left (WVU/Cal Poly/Little Rock/Troy) has a chance to get the easiest path to the national championship series in history.

quote:No, not even close. OU is an above average team that can punch above its weight when they get hot. They don't have good enough pitching to go that deep. They could beat Kansas, but they won't likely go much further.
They are the hottest team right now and have the easiest path with KU next, a team they should sweep.

@PEARatings
Path to Supers Difficulty
This takes who each team faced in the regional round and adds up the total TSR faced by that team.
Oklahoma facing Georgia Tech three times is the hardest path out of anyone. Even though Auburn lost game one, they still had one of the easier paths.

Totally agree with this take but will say it looks like OU has found youth pitching and they are really good. The bats will have produce with the pitching stafff

I’m glad we’re on the side of Omaha we’re on. If we get lucky and beat UNC game one then we get the winner of Troy/Little Rock or West Virginia/Cal Poly for the drivers seat.

Why would Kansas not be more of a favorite than OU because they are a pretty hot team as well.

Kansas is probably underrated by many because traditionally they are never very good in baseball.
I think the other thing to consider is that OU just knocked out a #2 seed on the road... Kansas is a #15 seed.... so people tend to think that if OU could beat a #2 seed... they should be able to beat a #15...
But baseball isn't that simple.

I'm not sure the average fan understands the difficulty of what they just pulled off. Not even softball has done anything like this, they played 46 innings in a span of 56 hours. Used every arm they had and got nothing out of their day 2 starter. Used 3 different Freshman to start games for them and scored 49 runs in 46 innings all against the best hitting team in the nation. We will probably never see such a condensed performance again in our lifetime!

Kansas is loaded with JUCO Bandits that play with an edge. JUCO guys DGAF about how good or hyped the team is that is in the other dugout. They want to rip your throat out and play like they have nothing to lose. I love how Kansas built their team and now that Tech is out of it I hope Kansas goes all the way. Much like Indiana in football Kansas coming out of nowhere to win it all would be great for the sport.

We had the worst betting odds of any host to advance out of the regional, and the worst of any 1 seed beat their 4 seed.

I think whoever wins the Auburn v. Ole Miss will be considered the favorite in that side of the Omaha bracket.
The other side is setting up to be an absolute crapshoot with a bunch of really good teams.

be shocked if Georgia doesn't win it.
Bad luck for both GA and State pulling each other in a Super. With Texas those are the three best teams in the country.
I think the winner of the GA -- State Super is the favorite in Omaha.
Ole Miss won't make it out of Auburn. But if we somehow do, our only win in Omaha will be the Troy/Little Rock slot. We'll get smoked by everyone else.

Same.
If any of their thumpers, & they’ve got plenty, get hot they’re going to be a real problem in the formats for the rest of the way

I have 2 dogs in this fight as I went to both UNC and UGA. Carolina has a much easier path to the finals and the pitching depth to get there. Georgia has maybe the best offense 1-9 in the country but their pitching is shaky. Although, to be fair, it’s been much better as the season progressed. I think UGA’s starters are the key; if Wes can get 5-6 innings consistently from them, they’ll win it. Ultimately, I think UNC wins it due to being deeper on the mound.
