Think of all the 13 fanbases that flock to tigerdroppings and CHOOSE to melt here.
You could even say that some of these boys are addicted to this LSU forum.
There are way more than the 13 too. Sounds like national brand to me.

My original reply was to a poster that stated that "maybe tOSU" is a national brand. That's about as stupid a statement that can be made on this board. Ohio State has recruited nationally for a long time and with 51 players from states that not only aren't from Ohio but also aren't from states that border Ohio supports this fact.

Just because you keep repeating the same tired things doesn’t make them true.

You’re stuck on this idea that just because you get a kid from California or Florida, you’re a national brand. I think Ohio State has a strong national presence, but their football team’s success has more to do with it than their assistant coaches traveling to other states and shaking some high school coaches’ hands.

Ask this 5 yrs from now.

That is actually pretty good compared to 99% of programs. You are stupid.

In fairness neither Dabo or O would let their coaches do what JoePa let his do

LSU has enough top talent in their backyard they might not have to dip into CA and FL as often?
Posted on 5/29/20 at 9:54 am to Poker Dough
Les used to pull a lot of talent out of Florida. O is pulling talent from Cali and Atlanta metro.

LSU has more National Championships than any other program outside of Tuscaloosa since BCS started. So actually earning it on the field (Except for USC '03).
Recruiting has pulled kids out of VA, MD, UT, CO, OH, KS, TX, FL, GA, AL, MI, TN, AZ, MS, CA, MO via ND, MA via NY as well as out usual LA kids.
But thanks for being so obsessed with us.

Maybe no other state in the nation has such an eclectic mix of people.
you're out of your mind if you think Louisiana is more of an eclectic mix of people than Texas, New York, or California. I don't doubt that there is an interesting mix for Louisiana, but I have to say, living in a neighboring state, and having worked in Louisiana as well as east texas, I have encountered a grand total of 1 type of Louisianan. If I had 3 words to describe this type, it would be friendly, relaxed, and dirty.
To me, the only national brand is Notre Dame. BYU is similar but thankfully that crackpot religion is small scale. Alabama, LSU, Ohio St, Clemson, Michigan, etc get national fans, but those fans are pieces of shite who just want to root for a winner because they feel like it proves they are a winner. If that is your definition - a team that gets fans around the country who have no personal reason to root for said team, then yeah, LSU is a national brand.

lsu is currently on a 20 year run in the most competitive division of the most competitive conference in the most competitive era that few programs in the history of cfb have matched - even the blue bloods. so the real question is why programs like psu, michigan and texas are so lame in comparison over the last 2 decades

Could care less whether LSU is a national brand. Three nattys since 2000 have kept me happy as a sidewalk fan.

Depends on what you define as National brand. On the level of Notre Dame, Texas, or Ohio State? Obviously not.
I think of the word national brand as the power programs in the country, for whom competing for and winning NCs isn’t a surprise. I’d list those as:
USCw
OU
Texas
tOSU
Penn State
Michigan
Clemson
FSU
Miami
Bama
Auburn
LSU
Florida
UGA
Tennessee
ND
