LSU has definitely been recruiting nationally over these last 3 years.

Eh...there's a lot of people in the Northeast, Boston area, that really like LSU.

Same with Chicago.

It helps that our alumni chapters in those areas are very active and very fun to hang out with.

Yeah probably.

LSU just won a national title in New Orleans to cap off a 15-0 season, won the Heisman, basically swept the major awards, had a #1 overall NFL pick at QB, and tied a record for NFL Draft picks. President Trump watched LSU play twice in person. Orgeron got Marcus Allen to come hang out on the sidelines instead of going to major USC events (I want to say he even skipped his own jersey retirement or something?). Randy Moss came to watch his son play regularly. LSU also had a very strong social media campaign last year with weekly, high quality, pregame hype videos narrated by Shaq, The Rock, Jamal Adams, Tyrann Mathieu, etc.

Perhaps most importantly for the zoomer/millennial generation, the Pardon My Take guys have gone all-in on LSU, Coach O, etc. That can't be overstated.

If LSU weren't a national brand, they wouldn't be pulling in kids from Mater Dei to S. FL to Ohio like they do regularly now.

Dude. Ohio State is a bigger national brand than LSU has ever been. Can LSU get there? Yes, but they aren't yet.

You answered your question —-ACC

Easiest road to playoffs. They arrive relatively healthy. They played well twice and lost 3 times. Put them in the ACC and maybe they make it once. Auburn, Alabama and LSU are in the SAME division and all have won it at least once since 2010. Throw in Georgia who has been in the playoffs several times and Florida who won it with Urban prior to 2010 and you can see how difficult it is to put a run together in the SEC.

Ohio State's brand is big but is tainted by how vanilla and shitty 11AM Big 10 football is. Ryan Day is about as interesting as a fence post. It's missing personality and fun.

Ohio State is the flagship school of the Midwest with football. Agreed LSU is behind OSU as far as a national brand, but LSU is moving up.

Yessir they are and thank you for not having to resort to insults unlike the guy above you. I appreciate good discusssion.

To illustrate. Ohio State has 51 players on the roster that are not from Ohio or states that border Ohio.

LSU has 32 such players. 13 of those players are from Alabama and Georgia. Recruiting wise LSU is still overall more of a regional recruiting power but there's nothing wrong with that as the region is fertile recruiting grounds.

I was surprised by the lack of an LSU presence in Florida. I honestly thought they'd have quite a few more players from the sunshine state.

Les Miles used to recruit Florida heavily as LSU used to pull elite talent from there. Orgeron coached at Miami, so he is familiar with the area. Bama pulls top talent from Florida. LSU currently is pulling in elite recuits from the Atlanta metro area. Interesting

LSU is a national brand and anyone who thinks otherwise is ridiculous. LSU is also a top 5 current program and arguably top 4. Bama and Clemson are the two best right now and Ohio State or LSU have an argument for third

I think that's less a reflection of national recruiting efforts and more a byproduct of local talent.

Louisiana has more by percentage, and doesn't have quite the competition pulling it.
