The random American who doesn’t follow sports doesn’t really know much about any sec school, ohio state, Michigan etc

A lot of people know more about the Ivy League schools for their reputations, some hbcu’s or ucla/usc for the film industry. If we’re talking strictly football or college sports and people who follow them then most of the schools dropped in this thread would be considered i think.

We are a national brand Einstein, and have been for a long time.
LSU has had a vast majority of out-of-state recruits in their recruiting classes for years now, including last year and in 2020, 2021.

LSU was #12 NATIONALLY in number of all-time NCAA victories, and #9 in bowl appearances.........................
"""""""""""""" B.E.F.O.R.E """"""""""""""" the year 2000.
We are now closing in on #11 in wins and #7 in bowls.
So STFU with that crap....

LSU also has the SECOND-MOST National Championships nationally since 2000....

You misspelled regional.

Then I guess 'Regional' Recruiting is the secret to be the first SEC team to have an undefeated 15-0 season as well, as is the second-most national championships this century.

And I guess it's 'Regional' when recruits and players signing and playing for LSU now and in recent years and decades have hailed from: Washington, California, Utah, Colorado Nebraska, Canada, Michigan, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Connecticut, Virginia, Tennessee, South Carolina, American Samoa, etc.

Spent the better part of the past 20 years on the west coast and I don't think I ever met an LSU fan or really even saw anyone wearing something to do with LSU.

How exactly does one 'downvote' facts and records and rankings that actually 'OCCURRED.' WTF does that even mean ???? Are people THAT jealous of the greatest season ever turned in by a college football team ???

Because you cite "facts" that have nothing to do with if you are a national brand or not.

Do you even know what national brand means?

And I'm not even sure what 95 Nebraska has to do with this.

It's pretty simple...Clemson plays in the acc, while LSU plays in the sec west.

He didn't say greatest team. That is debatable. He said greatest season in college football season. That's not up for debate.

The answer is 95 Nebraska either way.

INB4 LSU fans start talking about criteria that only allows teams of the past 4 years to be eligible.

Michigan is more of national brand and they are irrelevant past 15 years.

Which makes them a national joke at this point.

And I'm good with that.

Michigan used to be a top NFL factory along with OSU, Penn State and ND. Now it's pretty much just OSU keeping pace with the top SEC teams. The Big Ten is still a solid second to the SEC as a conference. I think for their conference to be equal to the SEC like it was in the 90s they need Michigan to live up to their potential. PSU doesn't quite have the same national recognition as UM I'm guessing

The state of Ohio puts more players on NFL rosters than any state in the SEC minus florida/Georgia/Texas

LINK

Plus we have more NFL Qb’s than any southern state minus Florida/Texas

Well said. I grew up in BR and everything north of I-10 practically felt like a different state.

By this logic, Alabama can't claim to be the best D1 program all time because schools like USF, UCF, App St, etc haven't had the same amount of time to compete for the same accomplishments.
