What an ironic post by OP considering OM has a banner hanging declaring themselves 2003 SEC West Champions. Ole Miss did not play in the SECCG that year because they lost to LSU, who actually played in the SECCG. You guys are hilarious.

He is still mad LSU put up 60 plus on him his senior year at Ole Miss. anyone who things this has anything to do with CLK as opposed to LSU doesn’t understand Archie’s history and hate for LSU.

Notre Dame and Penn State ran up the score on weak opponents and held them to less than their average in points/yards. These metrics are rewarded in this analysis. They are poor metrics to include in my opinion and reward teams that play easy schedules if they purposefully blow out those teams.

Did you forget 2019 ? Seem to recall LSU making the playoffs that year. Had a decent team, but struggled in the passing game.

Ascension Catholic beats the #1 ranked and previously undefeated WCA by 5 to head to the Dome. An old school river parish showdown between ACHS and Riverside.
re: Who was the LB (i think) recruit from north LA area that went to USC?
Posted by michael corleone on 12/5/25 at 12:34 pm to Ford Frenzy
Not sure how people missed evaluating this kid. Big, strong, and excellent straight line speed. The problem, however, was his lack of horizontal quickness. He could not move laterally, let alone change directions quickly. It’s a difference between playing LB on a D 1 team versus D II. Whit is a prime example as he has top level horizontal, speed, and lateral quickness. In fact, Whit’s older brother West has better horizontal speed and lateral quickness than Curtis.

Wrong.
Catholic Charities brought the bulk in under both Obama and Biden. They partnered with the Texas, Louisiana and South Florida Dioceses to relocate them once the Feds brought them in. They all received funds from the Feds to do so. It was terribly irresponsible as many were minors or barely 18 with no family in the US. They ( both the Feds and Catholic Charities) asked all three states’ social services departments to approve the minor’s relocations and authorize benefits for all (SNAP, TANF, etc).

If the money is equal, the kids will follow Frank. If you go back to the late 70’s, a large chunk of the really bad LSU years are directly tied to NOT having a NOLA based coach on staff.
re: Staff update (Ole Miss 247)
Posted by michael corleone on 12/1/25 at 5:33 pm to DeBerryJacket
Let me make sure I understand what is being reported. Per Ole Miss 247, Ole Miss refused to allow Lane to coach the playoff run after announcing that he accepted the head coach job at LSU, but they will allow the assistant coaches to coach the playoff run that accepted positions at LSU Is that what’s being reported?
re: Ole Miss AD Keith Carter should have learned a lesson from Tulane AD David Harris
Posted by michael corleone on 12/1/25 at 12:36 pm to MemphisGuy
Here lies the problem. OM’s self grandiose delusion and unwillingness to rationally consider its options resulted in an emotional response by Carter. Call Lane and LSU’s bluff. Publicaly announce that you want him to coach through the last game. Force LSU to decide if it is truly willing to wait for Lane until after NIL. LSU would likely have blinked and told Lane they want him to move now. This probably pushes Lane to stay at OM.
re: Why do people keep saying Kiffin will eventually leave LSU for Bama?
Posted by michael corleone on 12/1/25 at 12:28 pm to Chicken
Chicken is spot on. He will never be at Bama. Too much water under that bridge. Plus his schtick doesn’t play well there. The NFL is the threat, but again, it is going to have to be the right owner. Not many would tolerate his social media posts or comments. Very corporate approach there and Lane is not corporate ….yet.

Why isn’t Nebraska a powerhouse in the NIL era ? Motivated fan base. Lots of Buffet investors with money around. An admin that will build anything necessary. Seems like they are a solid GM away from putting the pieces together for Rhule
re: The Battle of Franklin was fought on this day 161 years ago...
Posted by michael corleone on 12/1/25 at 11:45 am to GREENHEAD22
How ironic that as a brigade commander he advocated to maneuver around the defenses at Gettysburg, but as a core commander chose a direct frontal assault at Franklin. I find it interesting that he didn’t at least attempt to maneuver around Franklin and get north of Nashville between the union Army and its supply chain. He could have not only dictated the battleground, but prepared it in advance as well. Clearly, he felt compelled for some reason to commit to the frontal assault at Franklin and Nashville.

re: Explain this to me.
Posted by michael corleone on 11/30/25 at 1:28 pm to themetalreb
When you play poker and have a shitty hand, you don’t announce to the table that you intend to bluff.LSU called your bluff and said —feel free to coach through the playoffs. You should have gone all in at that point and told Lane to coach the playoffs. LSU may have likely backed out if he chose to do so given the upcoming portal date.

And Ole Miss will be 71 years since winning its last SEC Championship in football.
