No. Sark won't have the talent in his players, or coaches at texas that he did at Bama. In addition his stress level will be amped up 100 times from where he was at Bama. texas will be a mid level SEC Program at best.

Sark, in my opinion, needed a readjustment period that he would have gotten in the Big 12. Getting one Big 12 season and then being thrown in the frying pan that is the SEC after that has me doubting if Sark can make it.

You think?
UT hasn't had a first round pick in the previous six drafts and that last offensive player taken in the first was in 2008.

And he came in and they went 34-29 over the next five years. He has never lost less than 4 games in a season as head coach. He was certainly a great OC at Bama, but average as a HC.

He did really well in Saban's shadow as a coordinator and on a smaller stage at Washington.
Really?

And? Bijan will be a top 5 pick in a couple years.

Washington was terrible before he got there, but after his first 4 seasons his record was 26-25.
Not very Sabanesque.

quote:yeah sark has even said this isn’t a total rebuild. It’s a team with talent that lost 3 games by a total of 12 points last season. They just needed better play calling. The headsets definitely cost them games last year which is why Herman is gone.
That's what's funny about their situation. They don't need to be "turned around". They need an infusion of competency at the highest levels instead of egomaniacal mediocre people calling the shots.

Maybe he will maybe he won't.
Considering the first round draft picks produced by Bama, UGA and LSU recently, UT has a lot of catching up to be had.

I'm sure as hell not comparing him to Saban. Clearly he had some personal issues back in his previous head coaching days. Pete Carroll & Nick Saban both rave about him, so I am not ready to write him off as a mediocre coach just yet.

Only when he's behind the wheel.

Up until last year, Texas had signed a better class than A&M for 6 straight years. During that time, they are MUCH closer to us than we are to Georgia (much less Alabama) in recruiting rankings.
Going into 2021, they are higher ranked than LSU, Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M in 24/7's Team Talent Composite.
The talent is there. Texas has just done less with it than any team in college football in the past 10 years.

Hold up. A new UT coach actually walked into the job and told everyone he could improve on a 3-loss season with just playcalling, without needing to rebuild anything?
That stupid sumbitch won't make it to year 3 in Austin.

Saban
Fisher
Smart
Kiffin
Riley
Mullen
Sark
Orgeron
Leach
etc
That's my coach rankings, so no.

I’m saying they lost games on the headsets last season

Yes… that certainly is the case with LSU…

Are you LSU people talking about Ogeron?

On topic…yes I am worried about Sark. His offense scheming can make up for a talent deficit on the lines, until recruiting catches up…Sark is perfect for that.
BUT MORE… Coach Saban trusted him with the Alabama reins and jumped at hiring him twice. I suspect Saban knows more about coaching talent than the LUSers who have that fat drunk woman abusing O as a head coach.
By the way… how does it feel to have your reformed AA coach called “a drunk” on a chat board. Somethings should be off limits …

It’s not just talent that gets you to that level but also coordination.
