At Alabama with Saban? Hell yeah!

At Texas?

How many Alabama transfers followed him there? 11 or 22?

Do you think Texas will be untalented

He did really well in Saban's shadow as a coordinator and on a smaller stage at Washington.

Good point. He turned a horrible team into an average team, so not the definition of "really well"

Talented at some positions. Outmatched at others. Overall recruting rank doesn't tell a whole story. Texas has recruited heavily to skill positions and the perimeter positions, WR and DB, for a spread focused Big 12. They have not kept up the talent level at the non-skill positions to do anything like Bama did last year. No balance.

During that time, they are MUCH closer to us than we are to Georgia (much less Alabama) in recruiting rankings.

Going into 2021, they are higher ranked than LSU, Florida, Oklahoma, and Texas A&M in 24/7's Team Talent Composite.

The talent is there. Texas has just done less with it than any team in college football in the past 10 years.

I disagree-

Recruiting rankings from the last 10 cycles including 2022-

LSU: 4,3,4,3,14,8,5,8,2,6
UGA: 8,5,1,1,1,3,9,6,7,12

Texas 16,14,14,4,4,31,11,12,20,24

LSU and UGA are damn close and Texas is no where near the top half of the SEC.

If using the NFL as a metric, opening day rosters from 2020-

LSU 42
UGA 32
UT 25

Bottom line, Texas has potential but is pretty far behind.

Not remotely ... he's a career average coach, who has never done it without Saban. He's certainly never been able to highlight his offense as a head coach

Sark, who is Sark?

I was guaranteed last year that Texas would get Urban Meyer as a coach.

I guess he doesn't want to coach football anymore.

Even Texas fans knew that the only place that Urban would go over TEXAS was the NFL. Can't fault him for wanting new challenges.

Nah, yall will learn after a while that most Saban coordinators aren't very notable on their own.

It's his ship.

He is a very good offensive mind. I don't find myself scared of any coach or team, because the scariest coach coaches my favorite team.

It's hard to buy this argument when your school worships a Saban disciple.

Jimbo is more tied to Bobby Bowden than Saban.

But yeah he did study under two GOAT coaches unlike Sark.

As far as his influence on Sark yeah it seems so. Sark's head coaching record is the definition of unimpressive.

Pete kept all the magic to himself.

First of all, you cant use 2022 as there is still 6 months left before signing day. Also, the highlighted part of my quote was referencing the past 6 years. But, I stand by statement that Texas has done more with less for a long time.

Regardless, when comparing us to Georgia, the numbers do not lie. This is the last four years of the Team Talent Composite from 24/7. When they release the 2021 roster rankings, it will be five consecutive years of a talent gap that has grown considerably large. Even in 2019, we were closer to Texas than Georgia in terms of recruited talent.
