They won’t. 9 game schedule is going to screw the SEC hard.

Committee just looks at who stacks wins.

Fully expect A&M at #4 this evening but, in the end, these rankings don’t matter a lick right now. Too early.

I know for sure after the first poll comes out everyone will bitch and overreact

Just remember A&M and Miss St have been ranked 1st in years past.

It’s just a beauty pageant and the committee has an agenda.

It's all about eyeballs on screens. They rank them to give the best possible viewership and increase the likelihood that it's the Big 10 vs. SEC in the championship game.

I'll have to see this before I believe it.

I think the top 6 listed are probably accurate but it no particular order,

#7 and below....all of them are highly suspect. Totally random at this point. I'm still waiting for a week or two....

The committee is garbage, and these rankings will be meaningless, as alot can change in the coming weeks

Ohio State and Indiana are practically in already, so it really doesn't matter what they're ranked.

The SEC needs to get past Nov. 15 to get a better idea of where everyone stands

Barring a Pitt upset, Notre Dame is in

The playoff projection will have Texas Tech and BYU in, which will be completely useless, because they play each other Saturday

These dumb ratings shows are a hangover from the 4 team playoff...they don't exactly mean much anymore

Wait, that has to be a mistake. I don’t see LSU listed.

I agree that Alabama looks awesome but they have that stain on their resume that looks worse and worse.

Meh.

Notre Dame lost to Northern Illinois at home last year and they made the title game.

Beyond that, no clue. Miami and GT should be in the 20s, they would get destroyed by any top 12 team and would lose to most of the top 20. Also don’t like Virginia at 16

Doesn't really matter what GT and Virginia should be ranked....win your conference and you're in

As for Miami...they do hold that key win over Notre Dame...if they win out and are 10-2 with the ND win, its going to be interesting

I'm seeing Georgia, vandy, and mizzou as the teams Bama has beat from that list, who am I missing?

The CFP rankings start tonight. Below is the CBS guess.

I would drop down Miami and ND . I would move up Oklahoma and Vandy.

Otherwise about right……

What do you all think
Move those two up where, 11 and 12? Head to head has to count

Top 9 have no losses or 1 loss.

The two loss teams have to win out to have a shot

If OU wins out they are in with win over Bama , Missou, lsu …

2. Alabama (7-1)
The Crimson Tide hold the most ranked wins in college football (4), but we're not expecting Tennessee to be ranked in Tuesday's first playoff poll after its home loss to Oklahoma. Why is Alabama ahead of the SEC's only remaining unbeaten (Texas A&M) here? We're guessing the selection committee points to the Crimson Tide's strength of schedule, which is higher than the Aggies.

Wins over teams in projected CFP Top 25: 3

Found that strange as the ranked wins only matter according to the committee not the AP or any other poll. So they wouldn't have the most ranked wins.

You aren't missing anyone. They say 4 in the paragraph then 3 in the number of wins over top 25 teams section

Their win over USF is also interesting, USF should end the regular season ranked and has a shot at being the G5 playoff team. Miami could steal a spot at 10-2 depending on how everything plays out

It’ll all play out, but calling Illinois a quality Big 10 win is a joke.
