My favorite sports season ever was the worst to first 91 Braves, and that scenario in CFB is just impossible.

It's impossible because there is no draft and no free agency.

Unless you're Auburn 2010.

Injuries are part of the game. It’s also odd seeing a UF talk about injuries after saying injuries had zero impact on the UGA UF game.

Well maybe you should go find that UF fan who hurt your feelings like that. Of course injuries can have an effect on the game. Real men don't use that as an excuse though.

Good thing all teams have equal opportunity then.

It's not the rest of college footballs fault when teams play a shite schedule and receive rewards that are in line with it.

It wouldn't be fair to all the teams that could have gone undefeated on shitty schedules, but manned up and played real ones.

I’m actually fine with 4. It’s about finding the best team and I can’t think of a year where I thought there were 5 potential number 1 teams. Does anyone truly think UGA and their abysmal offense deserved a shot in 2019, they were number 5.

127 teams and 4 make the playoffs. And it's pretty much the same teams. That is not going to work in the long term, I can guarantee you that.

This is dumb. In CFB teams turnover more than 25% of their players every season.

No one gives a shite. One time...in the entire history of the tournament. The other 1-16 games that year were 16, 26, and 19 point margins. The 2-15 games were 18, 26, 18, and 15 point margins.

How is stating there were injuries an excuse? Seems like saying the playoff should be expanded because of it is an excuse more so than saying a team was unlucky because of it.

Every UF fan I’ve talked to said that besides you. Cheers to you for having a rational outlook on the matter.

I agree. I just think it should change when we have a legit argument between 4 and 5. I can’t think of a year where it’s happened yet. Even when if it gets expanded to 8 you’ll have teams 9 and 10 crying for expansion. Then teams 11 and 12 if it gets to 10.

When it is your team, you are making an excuse, when the playoff selection committee points it out, it is information to help decide if a team is worthy. In other words it's self-serving when you say it.

Have you literally only been following college and professional sports for only about six weeks?

You mentioned the worst-to-first Braves. Were you even alive to watch them? They won because in the offseason before 1991 they signed free agents Terry Pendleton, Sid Bream, Rafael Belliard, Otis Nixon, and had previously traded for John Smoltz.

Yeah, colleges turnover 25%. What they can't do is go offer Greg Maddux a multi-year, multimillion dollar salary. What they can't do is trade a promising freshman to San Diego State for Fred McGriff halfway through the year.

There's literally nothing about your comparison to the Braves that makes sense.

I’m not whining the playoffs should be expanded because of it though. I’m just simply stating UGA was unlucky because of it. I’ve already said that loss shouldn’t be overlooked because of it.

playoff selection committee points it out

It’s still them excusing the loss for mentioned team.

2014 CFB Playoff Rankings - Final

Isn’t that the year OSU won it? If I remember correctly OSU’s resume was better than Baylor’s. I really don’t remember much about that Baylor squad, but if you have reasons as to why they were better than eventual champion OSU I’m willing to listen.

This year there are only 3 deserving teams so you are wrong. Expand to 16 and you might as well cancel the bowls and expand it to 32.

I actually think TCU should hve been in over Baylor and Ohio State. They had the better loss.

But I think they should have all been in the playoffs. Every argument for not expanding is terrible.

I honestly don’t remember much about TCU that year either, but I think quality wins are more important than quality losses.
