re: Anybody thought they would see Bama become a basketball school

We have to be good at something
There would have to be an alternative before I would quit
You are correct, the athletic dept at Alabama has fallen apart, and all its teams have gone down with them

Both he and Deboer need to go back to the West Coast, they are over their head in the SEC

He’s been coaching for 10 years and it took him 6 to win his first? Cignetti went undefeated and won it in 2.
Until we change our coach, drop the West Coast offense and Defense, we will be soft and get beaten by anyone close to us in talent. This is not your dad's Alabama football team. Good players will not want to play in the SEC with this coaching staff
re: W/O Saban Bama as hc or Saban tree guy as hc - how long will state of bama go before natty

With the current state of affairs, maybe never
The SEC is definitely down. We've lost the coaches who had made us great. I don't see any improvement in the immediate future
Lane Kiffin would have won that game with his offense; the fact that he didn't coach was on Ole Miss, not him
Not only built that, coached that, and made that the best "Ole Miss" team ever

Congratulations to the best Ole Miss team of my lifetime. Built by Lane Kiffin and well-coached by Pete Golding, this team exceeded all expectations and represented well
why is Ole Miss so insecure it can't admit Lane Kiffin is the only reason you are relevant in the CFP
We knew, having watched this team all year, that they had loads of talent, but lacked intensity; they were soft when they met a team with the same level of skill. We ran a West Coast offense that relied on gimmicks instead of toughness
re: today, what would you project alabama's record next year?

quote:Alabama is trending into a has-been, DeBoer needs to go back to the west coast, where his brand of girly ball is effective. Alabama needs to get a SEC level coach who can turn us back into an SEC-level football team
DeBoer's got a lot of stuff to figure out, but he eventually will.

Alabama has never claimed a National Championship; we have always been given a Championship by various news services. The vast majority, since 1936, have been API or UPI.
re: What Alabama team is considered the best ever? Why are they never mentioned as best ever?

quote:Yeah, we are kinda lucky that way, one day we will learn how to play football, guess how lucky we will get then
Because half of their “championships” are made up and most of the others they backed into them.

quote:There have been games this year when we did not show up, and this could very well be one of them; but I think not, we are not as good a team as Indiana, but we have more talent. If our coach can properly motivate and focus the team, we might do well. Play solid football, stay away from stupid gimmick plays, and I like our chances
Alabama may as well not even show up
Lane gave Ole Miss the best years in its history. Now, he is in pursuit of his dream job, which may be at LSU. This is what happens when you are not a blue blood and you hire a great coach; it's not fair, but it is reality, and it is predictable. You've had a wonderful year, and I've been pulling for you.

quote:That may be true, but LSU fans have been trashing the SEC for years. I think they would be happier in another conference, maybe the B1G
OP is a hurricane fan masking as LSU
I want to congratulate Alabama on a hard-fought win and feel for Oklahoma for a tough loss. We have been there, done that, and I know it hurts
quote:This is a blowout, and there is nothing we can do about it. Hopefully, this will get rid of this coaching staff and get a real SEC-level coach, but then, after seeing this abortion, we probably won't be able to attract one
This is going to be a blowout
