Does 77-0 count as memorable?

I remember it is, so I guess so right?

I still don't understand why they paired up Tennessee-South Carolina and UGA-Kentucky. If anything, it should be Tennessee-Kentucky and UGA-South Carolina

Per reports, a source within the South Carolina program stated that South Carolina didn't want to play Georgia, even though the two schools are very close to each other.

The SCar source didn't elaborate on what the reason was.

No,
Bama would be getting the 2nd and 3rd winningest programs in the west and the 2nd all time winningest program in the SEC. Nobody else's schedule would even be remotely close to that. But as I've thought about, its cool. This only has to be approved the SEC presidents and there is no way in hell they wouldn't all frick Bama. Play the schedule, it will consistently be amoung the most difficult in America and when playoff time comes Bama will have the SOS every year to fall back on. Outside of losing 4 games there will be no way Bama misses the playoffs. There will be no South carolina's, Vandy's or Ole Miss's on our schedule as perm opponents.

As it should be, if you're the best you get to play the best. While you whine about having to play really good teams all the time, you're good enough to handle it. How more unfair is it for Vandy to play Bama or Georgia every year. Bad enough they have to play Auburn in this scenario.

if you want fair, then you need to do a 4 year re-rank system.

I'm gonna be pissed if we really didn't get Florida.

We're going to play Florida every other year. I will miss the annual Auburn and Florida matchups, but the ability to play at every conference stadium in a 4 year span trumps that.

While it could certainly never happen I still think that several schools will have completely legitimate gripes and some will have clear advantages/disadvantages.

Gotta go geographical or else someone is going to look like a pussy and someone is going to get fricked.

Well, true. I forget that the new format replaces the current '7 permanents' situation.

Old: 1 free spot to rotate 6 teams through
New: 6 spots to rotate 12 teams through.

But still that's 50% schedules with no Florida hate week.

UGA not playing Tennessee every year is just sad. Kentucky? Really?

Georgia beat us at home last year, so did Vandy. They are equal so let's switch them out and let Tennessee have Georgia.

It's all about this upper tier, lower tier stuff. Florida had to have a lower tier opponent, and since they got South Carolina, that ruled out South Carolina having UGA as one of its permanent opponents, because then it would have 2 upper tier opponents.

We'll see how this upper tier/lower tier stuff works out. As it stands, the must play rivalries survived, but if Saban is right about UT being an upper tier team over the long term, someone who is in the top tier now will end up in the lower tier, and we might lose a long-standing rivalry if they stick with that approach.

TBH, not having Mississippi State play Alabama when they are so close and have played for so long, doesn't really make a lot of sense.

So, it should in reality probably be AU, TN, & MSU.

If they are determined to put LSU in, then kick out TN.

The geography makes no sense.

Yes, the early rumor on that scheduling criterion turned out to be true. And the best part is the Vols being considered Bottom 8. Lol.

Not sure how A+M is considered Top 8 above tenner but ok.

Question: is it for sure we'll have no divisions going forward? Top 2 teams overall play in SECCG?

Yes. No divisions. That's decided.

As to Tenessee vs A&M, UT wasn't even close to being in the top half--I believe that Missouri and both the Mississippi schools had higher win percentages. It was kind of convenient how this worked out for television purposes this time, but we'll see what happens 10 years from now (or whenever they take another look at this).
