2008 Texas Tech

While this is a good choice, even if we win this game, and even if we go on to beat Florida in the NC, what does it really change?

Sure, we might get 1 more ring, but we were already close to the top of the hill from 2005-2009.

My choice. The 2009 NC against Alabama aka "If Colt didn't get hurt."

Texas won more college football games than anyone else not named Boise during the entire decade from 2000-2009, but when Mack lost that NC game, he saw what Saban was building, and decided to change everything to chase a ghost that didn't need chasing..

That one game started the Texas downward spiral from 2010-2022.

Maybe nothing would have changed, but at the very least, Mack probably isn't forced out in 2013 for Nick Saban.. errrr I mean Charlie fricking Strong..

As a bonus, we would have 5 rings instead of 4.

That's my pick.
I get your reasoning, change that game and we win a natty for sure. However I also chose 2008 tortilla tech because I believe we would have won back to back 08-09 championships. Unless you believe in this alternate timeline Colt still gets injured first quarter vs Bama.

UF vs TEX would have been fun. 2008 had some really good teams at the top 5 that year.

But then you wouldn't have had the Kick Six. I know you are a Bama fan and on the losing end, but that was one of the greatest moments in College Football.

I was at the game and will objectively admit that it was the greatest college football game ever played, which is kind of cool I guess. I'd still take a 3-peat over it though.

You mean “If Alabama didn’t intentionally take a cheap shot on Colt McCoy (speared him with helmet in the back) to knock him out of the game”

Tough call.

Probably 2017 title game against Clemson. Would give us a 3-peat.

Unless it’s a national title game, what does it matter really.

Either

Navy in 84' (I wasnt alive but it would have gotten us to a natty)

UK in 2010 (after the big Bama win...we choked away a big lead)

UT in 2013 ( would have been another SEC title game for us if we won

Arkansas vs. Auburn 2010.

Ryan Mallett goes down to injury early in the game.

2021 NCG. If BAMA beats UGA in that game, it's not only another natty, and puts BAMA in-line for a 3peat, but uga goes into a tailspin knowing they'll never beat BAMA again and probably closes their athletic dept for good. It also gets Bryce a ring as a starter.

That or the 2023 Iron Bowl. I'd change the score to 223-0. Gives BAMA the all-time points record in a game and, and because frick auburn.

You say that like Tyler Wilson didn't light us up.

Wilson completed 25-of-34 passes for 332 yards and four touchdowns,

Mallet would not have made a difference. You were not stopping AU's offense/Cam that day.

2001 UT game that got postponed. We played it when we were down Earnest Graham, lost by 2. Would have gone to the NC, probably waxed by Miami but still, a better send-off for Spurrier.

Ole Miss vs LSU 2003

Best FG kicker in America missed two easy ones. We end up with a comical banner. Sigh!
