So it’s Lane Kiffin 2.0? Bwahahaha!
I was thinking the same thing. This drama is not over. There’s still a contract to be hashed out and I feel like that’s going to be a shi*show
I mean, this is what Judkins did to Ole Miss. He kept trying to renegotiate after making an agreement, over and over. Kiffin finally got sick of it, plus he was a cancer. Ohio State got him for less money, but he got a ring. He would have helped us a lot!
Some of these kids have too many advisors and zero loyalty.

Man, those standings are going to be jumbled up come Saturday night. The ones at the top can pull away a bit, or it could be a huge log jam at the top. This is fun!

Dumb question about emojis

Where do you get the emojis with the little dude rolling around laughing, holding the little sign, flipping the bird etc?

Forgive my ignorance, but of course that’s a prerequisite on here. (This is where I would put said emoji if I knew how)
Then we might as well add Memphis. Urban commuter schools with no football following and community college vibes. Hell, let’s add UCF too!
Meh, Pitiful frat boy scuffle. What ever happened to poison trees, gun deaths and teabags? Kids today are soft!

Legitimately didn't know this was considered a big rivalry still. UCLA has all but given up on football

USC vs Notre Dame is a much bigger rivalry than USC/UCLA, this list is silly.

Neither Ole Miss or Bama are "Good" schools

You just had to be that guy didn’t you? I was enjoying this thread, everybody was being nice. And then along comes the guy from Texas. Sheesh!
Informative post. I don’t know if he did it on purpose, but smart coaching by Pearl.
The whole run is incredible. After the first hit, where he ends up sort of falling backwards, then watch how he swivels his hips towards the goal line. Incredibly athletic!
I don’t think he’s a big athletics donor, unless I’m wrong. He’s given a lot to various academic causes though.
We had a tailgate spot where we have been tailgating for 20+ years. It is a small patch of grass across the street from the Grove. There was another group that had been there 30 years! They actually spread some the ashes of one of their group there!
It was a fantastic spot!
Last year Ole Miss kicked us out to rent that space for a “tailgating experience”.
Just like that, we lost the place where we made decades of memories, where we hoped our grandchildren would tailgate, where our friends knew how to find us.
It just means more…….money!

I’ll keep buying season tickets for now, but they won’t see any more donations. They won’t miss my meager donations, but at some point it’ll be too much and I’ll just stay home.

TAMU, Ole Miss, Oregon, etc. it doesn’t work.

Well, Oregon is currently undefeated and ranked #1 in the country. They have won an average of 11.25 games in the past four years. I would say it’s working out pretty well for them.

Ole Miss may have fallen short this year, but they were a play or two from winning 10 or 11 games. And they destroyed Georgia. They have won an average of 9.5 games in the last four years. I would say it’s working out pretty well for them too. And they don’t have a billionaire benefactor. But, their fans and alumni have embraced the portal.

Says the fan of a team that chose a pig as its mascot. You should have Dueling Banjos as your fight song.

I'd say you are going completely over board in your reply. All SEC teams rotating through so they all get to play each other equally does not stop anything about the spirit of the game or teams still getting to play each other.

Of course I was going overboard. But, if you don’t understand the importance of rivalries in the SEC, and in college football in general, then you don’t understand college football.
It’s more about the pageantry and history and bragging rights than championships. Otherwise schools like South Carolina, State, Ole Miss, Kentucky, Arkansas etc might as well just quit playing.
The current relentless push for an undisputed national champion is ruining college football. Why? Because it’s really about money, not championships. But, the horse is out of the barn now, I guess.

Cancel perm rivals. Everyone rotate through all teams evenly.

Yeah, let’s get rid of bands and fight songs and mascots and school colors and everything else that makes college football what it is. Hell, let’s just move games out of small towns like Oxford and Auburn and move all games to big cities.
Might as well get rid of student sections too. Sell those seats for the most we can get for them.
Pep rally? nope
Homecoming queen? gone

Looking forward to hosting Alabama, Ole Miss, and Texas.

Man, what a great home schedule.
