frick off...any ohio university has not seen anything like the LSU offense. Those archaic one dimensional offenses in the big 11 could be stopped by most Texas high school teams.

I thought OSU was going to win it all before the Bama/LSU game

Yes, absolutely, beating Bama is the first stepping stone in getting better recruits, resulting in better on the field play, resulting in better win ratios.

All the other stuff could and should come and it will be glorious, but it is just lagniappe.

Alabama is 50-4 since the start of 2016. Two SEC titles and a national title.

The slip is real.

every season for every team is a disappointment if no national title. every team. every season.

This is true for a select few.

I’ve become a fan of this particular Bengals team. If they should get to the championship game and lose to OSU, I would be very disappointed.

Not really. But if you'll be disappointed if we don't win, then I'm ok with that. You can be as miserable as you want.

I do however expect us to win the NC. I can't see another team that could beat us right now. So, yeah we'll probably win it but I'll let the losers think about disappointment.

Cling to whatever moral victories you can find, especially with this bizarre thread. This was the worst Bama team in terms of talent and preparation we've seen in some time. Sarkisian and Golding are not elite guys, and Saban's system and philosophy are proving to not be what they once were in this new era for CFB.

Recruiting is EVERYTHING, especially when it comes to these two teams. It isn't simply one having better players than the other. It is a double impact as most of these recruits are not only playing for one team but against the other.

LSU being able to shift that imbalance that has existed for a while now is HUGE.

Bama has absolutely had a talent disparity against 99.9% of the teams they have played, some worse than others.

LSU has finally gotten to the point where the talent disparity wasn't enough to overcome bad execution. This is why we won.

Not the question.

If LSU doesn’t win the national title or loses in the playoff, is this season deemed a success?

Yes

LSU was picked to finish 2-4 in the west

LSU beat A1
Sec west champs
Sec champ
Playoff birth
LSU trending way up
Heisman trophy

False. I have been waiting for a decade to see this team, I do not care how it turns out, LSU is a team on the rise running a modern NFL offense. This will not be the last time we beat bama and and have a chance to win the SEC.

That's not realistic. They simply don't have the complete team to beat OSU or Clemson most of the time. Anything can happen, but it just isn't likely

LSU fans are more worried about next year than winning a title with an undefeated and ranked #1 team this year.

Bizarre.

I would like some hardware. SEC title, Peach/Fiesta trophy, Championship trophy...

Beating Bama, Auburn, Fla, Tx... Having an offense that looks like it was designed in my life time. Can't say it will be a disappointment.

Yes, it would clearly be a success.
1. We've played a difficult schedule and consistently played well all year.
2. The offense is finally of this century
3. We will likely have our best recruiting class ever.
4. Beating Alabama in Tuscaloosa finally gets that monkey off our back.
5. If we win out we are SEC West and SEC Champs.

I'm sure the optimists here believed we had a good shot at making the playoff this year, but there was a lot to prove. I think we've proved a lot of what needed to be proved to demonstrate that we as a program are on the right track. It would obviously be great to win the National Championship, but let's get real. The program has been through some shite in the last ten years. We're not at a place where we can turn our nose up at winning an SEC championship. That's always something to be proud of and if we do so this year, we should feel good about that.

True this team is good enough to win a Natty. And to the Buckeye this defense is good enough to beat OSU. I've watched them on 3 different occasions.
