Bama Fan: Judging someone they don’t know for not being spiritual enough for their arbitrary, subjective tastes based on their own arbitrary, subjective religious beliefs.

Hey yo OP...

quote:

15 “Beware of false prophets, who come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravenous wolves. 16 You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? 17 Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Therefore by their fruits you will know them.

No judgement here, Bro. But how is your Fruit, Wolfman?

I’m a believer (a bad one) but honestly I cringe when players throw the “thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” into post-game interviews and any other chance they get. Comes off as smarmy and proselytizing.

That, or blatantly ignorant. There are millions of children living in abject poverty, dying painful and meaningless deaths.... but oh, the lord sure love me so much that he made me good at football. Grow up.

He said a bunch of things but a rough translation to sum it up would be "STTDB"

Are the kids in Africa thanking God for being born with HIV or AIDS ? Some people thank their God before they blow themselves up.

Did he return the money to the terminally ill cancer patient’s whose fund at OLOTL helped purchase those wide receivers.

MaroonNation, good Lord (no pun intended). Talk about getting 1000% of your "facts" wrong.

Most athletes I have heard "thank God" sound fake as can be. Maybe they aren't, but many sound fake and contrived.

I prefer people who are doing what Jesus said to do rather than talking a talk they might not be walking. Just me...

I didn’t say you did. Just quoted some scripture and asked a question.

Judging (not you, but) your reaction, it appears as if I could answer your question by legitimately repeating it back to you.

But before you answer that-as it appears you genuinely do have issues in that respect-do you have an answer for my original questions? This posting of yours is quite lukewarm, it seems.

He did something more important. He brought attention to the poor, hungry, needy humans in his hometown, but who exist everywhere.

' “Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?“. Matthew 25

Maybe if more “believers” actually heeded this, others could have faith instead of seeing the hypocrisy of many faiths. Food assistance programs are suffering because of you know who, hailed as “anointed by God” by some of the religious right.
