re: I feel kinda bad for Myles Brennan

Ran into him and his family about a year ago at MidCity Beer Garden.

Dude is at peace with his life I assure you.
Pay off the divorce HELOC. Pay off the vehicle.

Upgrade the vehicle. Build a pool. Just a tiny house note on a place I’ll never sell. Live the GD Dream.

I ain’t far from most of it anyway. But $100K would be fantastic.
Louisiana started issuing REAL ID’s in 2016.
Last year. Narcissism is a killer. Could type a Tolstoy novel about how much I love her…still talk with her girls every day.

I’m not perfect. But damn do I not feel like-despite all of our issues-that she will always be the one that got away.

Alexa, play fireplace sounds. Sometimes it screws up and I’ll ask it for Fireplace music.

re: A.I. Have you used it?

Have used it not quite daily but for billable work and general queries.

Started with Chat GPT 3, then we got API keys for 4 w/plug-ins. We’ve written some white papers for how to use it to generate code outputs when you’re a civil engineer who can do 1D/2D Modeling for H&H or Drainage studies but either does not know how or is not interested in learning Python as a coding or programming language.

I’ve used it to write reports I’d assign to lower level staff. I spend the same amount of time QA/QC’ing but it allows for much more lump sum pricing on work as opposed to billable hours/Not To Exceed when you are talking about professional services.

Which-let’s face it-when you are in professional services, you are selling hours of work by employees for a billable rate. When you reduce the amount of hours it takes to produce the work and you can still charge the same price for the deliverable, it gives you more hours to sell which makes you more profitable.

Anyone who isn’t using this advance to simply help out with report writing or basic content creation is stupid…or lacks vision to understand how their business can profit significantly in the short term from leveraging the tech.
Appreciate all the responses. It’s the OT so I expect wheat and chaff to get answers on any topic. To answer about my interest in bronze, I’m not a fan of NATO straps. I also own a stainless Luminox Bear Grylls model. It’s a stainless/black combo. Had it for two years and it’s almost an everyday wear.

I was being pushed by my long term GF (now ex; no pics but OT 8) to buy a nice gold watch. But when I saw the Bronze with the Bronze bracelet I thought it was a lower key look compared to Gold/Gold Bracelet. Which even though I’m 44 I figured was a little too Retirement/Boomer looking for me.

The Bronze aging on the reviews I’ve seen on YouTube looks amazing in my opinion as I’d like something that provides character.
Headed to Orlando Tues/Wed for work and called the Tudor Store there. It’s in stock and retails for $4,875. Looks like some used versions are anywhere from $225 to over 50% off used.

Would the OT Watch gurus recommend buying used or full price retail? This will be the first big boy watch purchase and I’m just curious as to y’all’s thoughts on the retail versus appreciation over time, etc.

Suggestions on a purchase approach welcomed.

And yet he was voted in without a runoff…
The message to me is that my source months ago was correct. The black caucus did not activate the GOTV effort for Wilson. His inability to make the runoff with a 40% turnout is eye opening. That should be a cakewalk to a runoff from a cleared field on the Democrat side.

He was not well liked during his tenure at DOTD under JBE. He was well liked by Engineering and Construction Firms. Lots of disaster and infrastructure money helps you make friends.

But those friends aren’t the types that run vans and busses on Election Day…and those friends weren’t all that enamored with Wilson in his time in the Administration. That tepid support showed yesterday in a major way.

They may blame Katie. But their vans and busses absolutely did not run.
You can’t convince idiots that they aren’t idiots.

Their tribal affiliation means they can’t admit to being wrong or thinking for themselves. They’re just as much a bunch of feckless rubes with NPC tendencies as anything on the, “other,” side they lament incessantly have to offer.

The lack of critical thinking and groupthink is disheartening.
“Hurr Durrr Democrat ahole!!!!!” LOL

The anonymity of this board makes for some hilarious, completely idiotic people making some hilarious, completely idiotic comments.

The relative intelligence quotient of this board would be raised if 85% of its posters were permanently banned.

Most of you dolts remind me of how Tip O’Neil once described a true Louisiana RINO during his time in Congress. The former speaker once said of Louisiana’s own Buddy Roemer that he was, “Often wrong but rarely in doubt.”

Get bent you dumbasses. Oh and BTW-LA-6 would essentially remain untouched in redistricting. Letlow’s District is the one on the chopping block. Yet another ill informed yet convinced member of the lantern and pitchfork punditry here.

Graves got Louisiana $1.2 Billion in completely new federal funding called CDBG-MIT from HUD and despite the August 2016 event being focused in about a dozen parishes mainly, that funding has been spent on engineering and construction of projects all over the damn state.

Unfortunately once those dollars get here, the Governor has immense control.

But for people to act like he’s done nothing for us is absolutely asinine. He’s been amazing and will continue to be.

Stupidity still reigns on this board. To think y’all will vote tomorrow is frightening in some cases.
There is such a raging lunacy on this board. People will cut off their noses to spite their faces because they see an image that paints a narrative.

All the while decrying mainstream media and clickbait journalism.

Their analysis and decision-making based on situations and people are distilled into what a fricking picture symbolizes to them. Trained like a Pavlovian Dog to slobber at the sound of the whistle.

This is on either side.

Neither is above or beyond the other's total lack of vision. People on the left and the right are equally guilty of not pushing past the surface or front page or headline.

Most of y'all suck.

If we want to truly improve in so many categories as a state….insurance cost, business climate, etc….then electing a candidate who will stop at nothing to get this done has got to be the focus.

Otherwise, what are we really hoping to change?

Money in rural/local politics makes a difference. Trial Lawyers, attorneys and the Bar Association have a metric shite ton of it.

So if you want tort reform and you're a candidate for Governor and you want to win election, you want to STFU about it until you're in office.

The reason is that the two functions of being a good Governor-or any good politician-is running for office (IE-being a good enough candidate to be elected) and then holding office.

If you don't want your name smeared and your candidacy/electability destroyed, then you'll STFU about issues that folks with tons of money are motivated by.

Tort Reform talk will cause even Republican attorneys and lawyers to spend all of their money against whomever is talking it. You can dislike that all you want, but Citizens United and the SCOTUS make money in politics a reality, and people spend money in politics to support their own self interest.

So if you want tort reform, you want a candidate who believes in it but somehow will never tell you about it publicly, because they'll never win.

Go look at the sheer amount of money that John Bel Edwards had spent on his PAC's and campaigns over two cycles when both of the last R candidates talked tort reform. Again, you may not like that idea. I don't particularly care for it.

But I care to talk about reality more than some pie-in-the-sky, never-neverland that doesn't exist...and candidates who talk tort reform are going to create their own opposition candidates through vast sums of money spent against them.

So actual conservatives who are tort-reform minded should STFU about it IMO. Just get elected and THEN get it done.

Definitely eats a lot of doubles. But he wasn’t 100% in Fall Camp and wasn’t a full go for Offseason S&C and-again-is playing his way into football shape.

He will continue to get better as the season wears on.

A little too much hate without enough context here.

I was confused by the screen name here. Seeing the G instead of the Aggie iconography really throws you off when you compare the two.
