Maybe he just forgot.

Maybe religion is very personal to him and he doesn't like talking about God.

Maybe he's struggling with his beliefs.

Maybe he just doesn't believe in God.

Did Harvey Updyke thank God before he murdered that tree?

Perhaps you’ve heard of “separation of church and state”? Anyone is free to worship or NOT worship in the good ol’ US of A.

No, and I respect him even more for not doing so. Because he worked hard with the genetics he inherited and became an elite QB with them. He deserves the credit.

He thanked God. Must have been the part you missed.

After a little more thought here’s who he thanked:
His hometown community
His family
His teammates
His coaches (from high school, tOSU, LSU)

just as importantly he called attention to the plight of the less fortunate...

A very selfless acceptance speech.

I don’t really care if it offends you that he didn’t thank a god.

The speech was around 9 min. If you really wanted an answer to your question you could've re-watched it and answered your own question quicker than any response you'll get here.

But of course we all know you don't care about the answer. That wasn't the purpose of your thread.

Right. He actually did something that was effective instead of just praying about it.

I’m a believer (a bad one) but honestly I cringe when players throw the “thank my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ” into post-game interviews and any other chance they get. Comes off as smarmy and proselytizing. Didn’t like it with Tebow or even Tua. I understand it’s a huge platform to share your faith and I admire the young men, but you’re going to reach more people one on one.

I like that Saban practices his faith without preaching, just builds houses and helps needy kids. Guess it’s a Catholic vs. evangelical thing.

Tim, I have a feeling you miss a lot of things. Good luck with your search, sir.
