when, specifically, have you heard Saban praise God for anything?

Saban didn't make his deal with God.

Oh look

A ridiculously militantly religious Gump

It’s not a sin to not thank God for something. In fact I bet God doesn’t care if he gets a shout out or not at a trophy award ceremony.

It’s all about how you live your life when nobody else is watching

But continue on with your judgement of others

So Christ-like

....... “let he who is without sin cast the first stone”

Thanking God for your talent is one of the most narcissistic things there is. God told the rest of us to go frick ourselves?

I have always thought this as well and I'm a very spiritual guy.

Right after he thanked Zeus and Krampus.

And I’m not trying to take that away from him. But a shout out to the one who made it all possible would have been nice. Does JB believe in God? What’s his/ his family Religion? Is he a D or R, liberal or conservative? A social justice warrior? So many unanswered questions about this person so many have come to idolize. Perhaps this discussion belongs on pol board??

The answer to every single one of those questions is the same -

It's none of your fricking business.

A lot of folks don't believe in a god, particularly the young. They've been turned off by religion. I think Joe is an advocate for social justice and he's stated his views on equality after the whole "send them back" bullshite. He has a social conscience.

Joe Burrow made his football success happen.

It took years of hard work, coaching, and dedication to get as good as he is. He, his coaches and family are responsible for his success.

If one must give credit to god, then why don’t you see people crying and cussing god after tragedies like the multiple mass shootings in the last few years?

Religion needs to stay where it belongs, in church.

I must have missed his “ send them back” statements. Refresh my memory.

Surely you remember the chants at rallies.

From an SI article:
"He is also forthright and open about social issues. During a summer interview with SI, he referenced a tweet from President Trump that directed four U.S. congresswomen to “go back” to their home countries. “Why does racial inequality have to be political?” Burrow asked. “It’s basic human decency.”

I don’t know of his faith beliefs, religious views, etc. it’s his business. Not everyone believes in a god and, if that’s his view he entitled to it. After all it’s America where is freedom of religion and freedom from religion.

FYI, this only applies to government. Part of freedom is everyone else has the right to say what they want about it.

None of this belongs on a sports message board, or in sports conversations period. How Joe lives his life has zero bearing on his ability to play football.
