I have an ego battery powered one and love it. Probably should have gone with the combo edger/weedeater

I have the EGO weedeater and blower and I especially like the auto feed feature of the weedeater and the air speed of the blower.
ETA: After my forever old Honda self propelled just about killed my old arse one afternoon, I went out and bought the EGO self propelled battery mower, with free extra battery and $150 off. It is really nice having the same platform for battery operated tools and the ability to use the same battery in all devices.

Whole Home Generator DIY

Posted by jmon on 4/27/25 at 8:55 am
Getting quotes and prices are all over the place. My question is, has anyone gone the DIY route when purchasing a whole home generator set up?
Purchase Generator (22KW)
SUB OUT: NG Line
SUB OUT: Electrician and hookup, transfer switch
PAD PLACEMENT: DIY

Iy seems the process is pretty straight forward but looking for input and advice from those that may have gone their route, and if any cost savings. (northshore area)

Whoa, you're squeezing an island cabinet in there? Gonna be tight opening drawers, maneuvering. Full extension drawers come out way further than you think.

That peck cypress is beautiful.

I have a 55" LG, probably 12 years old that I bought used on FB marketplace for $50 5 years ago. Had an issue with the Mother board two years ago, $29 repair from ebay. Still going strong!

Is there a permanent solution to stopping them from popping up on my property?

No.

Axe chop one side, axe chop the other side, pick axe or spade shovel and pop them out. I have about twenty I need to deal with, currently.

re: Have you ever seen someone die?

4.
Was 20' away from a sign company truck and a guy in a bucket changing bulbs in a sign, approximately 50' or more high. Bucket cotter pin, or whatever was holding the bucket broke free and the man and bucket came down. The trajectory made the bucket tip in an unfavorable way.

Old man apparently had a massive heart attack while driving and blew the intersection at Williams and Vets in Kenner and hit a telephone pole. Head went through the windshield and I was in the parking lot where he hit the pole.

The other two were peaceful, my mom at 84 and my dad at 96.

I've already got PVC ran throughout my yard to several hose bibs,

If that has worked, why change now? PVC is readily available should you ever need to fix/ repair.

Check your flow sensor. A faulty flow sensor may read salt as zero.

In the past when my salt readings didn't match the store test this was the problem.

Wouldn't the system throw up a "Faulty Flow Sensor" error?

Go to Costco and get a bucket of chlorine tablets and be done with the salt.

Bad advice.

His pool is salvageable, and rather than enrich Costco/ Sam's, Wal Mart/pool stores, follow the Trouble Free Pool's website for guidance. SLAM method is your way to go to start on the simplest journey of pool maintenance.

AND, get a proven test kit and DIY!

SWG fail all the time and off brands follow the same rule. It could be defective.

Visit the Trouble Free Pool site, get rid of all your chemicals and use the SLAM method to get your pool sparkling. Your chemicals use will be relegated to bleach, chlorine stabilizer and Salt.

re: Recommendations for a good Crawfish pot

I've had aluminum for almost 20 years

Older aluminum pots were great, but newer ones are not made the same way. When dealing with more aggressive corrosion risks, such as using highly acidic substances (what's in your boil), stainless steel typically offers stronger corrosion resistance.

I too have an older 60qt aluminum pot, but when I needed a larger boil pot, I opted for the SS as it was more durable, sturdy and easier to keep clean.

Your mileage may vary!

Buy once, cry once.

Get all stainless steel pot/basket/burner, I prefer 100qt.
