I found out in the 90's that even NAIA schools have boosters paying players. I had a cousin that played NAIA basketball. Now to be fair, I think the NAIA used to allow a certain amount of booster participation. But, it stands to reason that if boosters at NAIA schools do it, you know it happens at NCAA schools.

What I don't understand is how the NCAA expects the head coach to know what each of his players are doing off the field in the offseason.

Alabama cheats, they cheat so much the NCAA basically has an office there... Tennessee aggies and LSU cheat but they suck at cheating so it doesn’t help.

Every program has bag guys I would assume. Everyone does it, so no one says anything. Kind of a secret bond of coaches.

It's when you get out of hand with it, the NCAA takes notice.

In the SEC, kid got cashiers check from coach for around 30k and proceeded to pimp out a gold ford taurus . Mom got monthly checks as well, but like $200 or so.

Ok,name the school then.

The athlete I know that talked about the 10k I was signed by South Carolina and ended up with a very nice ride.(This was 20 plus years ago and son was actually a highly recruited SEC OL who signed with Ole Miss)

I also new another kid ( once again 20 plus years ago) who signed with Michigan and essentially had a no show summer job with a big time Michigan alum.

If I name the schools it will do nothing, but that was an SEC school. The coach who handed out the check was considered and still is a respectable coach by media. I at least told you what I saw at AU.

the reason is the level of talent and culture in the heart of SEC recruiting territories. Elite players from all over the nation get “next level” treatment, but it’s across the board in the southeast.

Complete garbage...this is nothing more than your personal theory without a shred of evidence.

The "talent and culture" is just prevalent if not more so in Texas.

there is 5-7 studs every year in state we never get & it’s due to the street agent game. Move on, nothing you can do & you have plenty of other options.

Ok,go ahead and name these kids and the schools that signed em.

So was Mack "playing the game" when he had Texas competing for NC's?

You do realize you can simply ask for sources without being a bitch right?

Get back to me when you've played CFB, had two kids play in college, another an NFL sports agent and three other family members work in P5 ADept's including your very own.

Google is your friend as well for top recruits/home state both in recruiting rankings and NFL draft over the last 20 years (nice colored maps for you I'd bet).

NCAA has a nice lil breakdown for major recruiting violations with details (player state/program and violation) as well.

Read up on Texas legislature re: "agents" to HS and NCAA athletes. "Willie Lyles" will open you to a world of fun news.

Overall I'm not sure what to tell ya, I stated the SE has the best athletes and that the "games" really don't effect outside conferences. A bitch will bitch I guess.

There is some truth to what he's saying. BAMA and the top tier programs pay less "up front" to get recruits.. BAMA's position is even stronger recently, they pitch the NFL card and as well they should.

Everybody is getting taken care of on campus, that's not even debatable.

You know they looked the other way for the decade before that right? That is what folks seem to forget when they talk about that case.

Duke has been paying players since the 50's, they are just smarter in how they do it. Like the Ivy schools, they pay the bulk after you quit playing. Still illegal but like Harvard and Yale, not like the NCAA goes after them.

It was real, they just prosecuted the wrong case.

Duke sports going back to my age has been pampered kids getting away with murder with the locals. East Coast rich vs local poor.

I used to get checks to a player at my address. I would then give them to another player. It may or may not have been anything interesting.

We looked into the sender and couldn't find a connection. When I gave them to the mutual friend player, he was sort of "I'll take care of it" about it. Then they kept coming and I kept giving them away.

I don't think anyone has any doubt that rich white kids who go to Duke and play sports are given preferential treatment... but you explicitly stated that they were rapists. If it wasn't the Lacrosse scandal, what was the situation that you are thinking about?

Yea,you can get back to me as well.Sorry this is an anonymous message board and I can any claim any theoretical background I choose.

You made the claim and you can provide the names and schools they signed with. You said 5-7 "studs: out of Texas. If you have all these inside sources and connections it should be easy.

Just telling to Google "Willie Lyles" tells me you have no more information or sources than most do on this board.

I'm well aware of which states produce the most signees and NFL talent BTW
