I saw an online theory that the Adelson family is pulling a Rachel Phelps/Stan Kroenke and actively sabotaging the Mavericks so they can move the team to Vegas. That’s the only way this trade makes sense.
Vegas is already getting their own expansion team.

The golfers seemed to enjoy it, to me that adds to the appeal of hearing the off-cuff conversations. This league's viability is going to depend on how popular this is with the other pro golfers.
If more golfers get excited about it and want to compete, that'll draw more people in. Maybe they could have Korn Ferry Tour guys on, or some golf influencers to shake things up.
I liked it, I think it's clearly marketed towards a younger demographic. It's not supposed to replace real golf, we still have that Thusdays-Sundays.

Kelly, Rodriguez and Pfaadt are not special in any way at this point in their respective careers. You have a very good 1-2, be happy for that, but even Gallen has faded a bit over the past 2 years.

So you'd rather them pump up Texas, or Alabama, or Ohio St?
Some of you are weird. You complain when they pump up the traditional powers and you complain when they pump up the underdog story.

34, never been to those northern/Midwest states like Nebraska, ND, SD, Montana, Minnesota, Iowa, or the Northeast states past Massachusetts.

re: My son cares more about watching college football than going to class
Posted by Goldrush25 on 12/20/24 at 9:36 am
I don't think there's anything you can do that will suddenly snap him out of it. I was in the same place as him at that age, substitute college football for video games and bowling.
I'd stop paying for college and tell him he has to get a job and pay rent. The only thing that got me on track was having to get a job. From there I worked odd jobs, then went to the Army, then got out and went back to college at age 26 of my own volition. So worked perfectly in time.

Maybe Moss has let the people who care most about him know and that's enough for him.
re: "Comparison is the thief of joy"

Sure but I don't think comparison is a bad thing in itself. When used in moderation it serves as a good motivator for improvement. When there are professional milestones I want to achieve, for example, I look at someone and say well if they did it so can I.
Obsession with comparing yourself to others is when it becomes unhealthy.

Well, just speaking in terms of the getaway, very few people can adequately plan for how they'll deal with being the target of a large-scale manhunt.
Has to be incredibly stressful, I'm sure he'd barely slept since last week. Reality sets in that you're never going back to a normal life. Even if you had everything planned out at some point fatigue sets in and you stop thinking clearly.

Why do people think that being a professional and being an idiot are mutually exclusive?
There are imbeciles that run entire multi-million dollar corporations. Why can't there be dumb hitmen?

That's how a lot of perps get caught. Unabomber's brother dimed him out.
But this is why they offer rewards. $60k means a lot to someone working at McDonalds.

I also won $8,000 on Trump election. I placed $600 on Trump to win popular vote margin by 1.00-1.99%. 13x odds.. I did this because liberal media bias shortchanged him 3% in 2016 and 2020. 538 had kamala win popular vote margin by 1.2%. Add 3% Trump to that and now that made it +1.8% Trump.
I also won $5,000 on Jayden to win heisman placed after Miss St game. 35x odds.
I almost almost won $30k on Jayden #1 overall pick. 75:1 odds. I put down $400 in October. In hindsight he was the best player in draft. I knew that because he had an FBS record 208 passer rating and did this vs a Top 5 SOS. Caleb had a 160 passer rating and a much easier Pac 12 defense to play verse.
I placed Bama Nati odds after 2023 Miss St during game in September. They were at +2500 odds. Put down $200. This was lowest point for them last year. They ended up in Semi-Final and 1 fumble away from beating Michigan.
I have very few stories of losing when I placed these mega odds bets. Yeah I named 2 losses above, but they were great bets for the 25x to 75x odds.
I went to a Top 5 full time MBA on a $100,000 scholarship. I am very good at these things.
This is one of those where you type, and then delete.

Add to that the people who think his wife is involved. His wife doesn't know sofisticated hit men and doesn't have the finance knowledge to get him money that can't be traced.
How do you know what his wife knows? No one knows anything about her.
My first instinct was the wife had something to do with it but that's just because of the statistics on homicides. Spouses, family members and friends/associates make up a much larger group of culprits when it comes to pre-meditated murder.
That's why law enforcement always starts with questioning the family. Strangers planning and carrying out the murder of another stranger is exceedingly rare.

Is any pulling for this guy to continue to evade law enforcement? It's like watching the old Investigation Discovery show "I almost got away with it." Every time I would watch that show I would end up pulling for the bad guy.
No, I want to hear his story. If this guy is indeed who a lot of people think he is, a person who was crushed by the system and did this in an act of vengeance, his story could keep the commentary on unethical insurance practices in the cycle. That is a good thing, even if his act was in no way heroic.
If he's never found this will just get buried by the news cycle and everyone will ultimately write their own narratives.

Can someone explain to me why baseball contracts are so long and lucrative ? Specifically the length.
Why do franchises want to financially commit to players until they’re 38-40?
Genuine question what am I missing?
The long contracts are a way to circumvent the effects of the Competitive Balance Tax and maximize short-term cash flow.
Teams are required to pay a specified tax for every dollar they go over the CBT threshold. If they were to sign Soto to say a 4 year contract at $175m a year, depending on how long the signing team has been paying into the CBT they could end up paying up to a 60% surcharge on overages every year.
It actually is cheaper for them to sign longer contacts so the exposure to tax overages on a year-to-year basis is minimized.

What does that have to do with if he's a hit man or not? All a hit man is is someone who is paid to kill someone.
