Umm I live in texas and Austin is without a doubt a leftist cancer in the heart of a great state. Although all big cities lean left Austin is by far left of left in that regard.
Don’t defend it. It sucks and you know it. It’s over priced and crowded. The rest of the state knows it too. You can still be a UT fan and admit Austin is awful. Just awful.

It is like anything else in the USA today. Facts do not matter. UT faculty is pretty left wing. They wouldn't be hired if they were not. It becomes a race to see who can be the most outrageous.
UT will suppress anything resembling discussion. Faculty do their best to imitate Berkeley or Harvard. Without that you do not rate. Sad but true.
