re: Is this a nightmare scenerio for UGA

Believe this is close to best case scenario for UGA. Win either of the next two and get in. One is in Athens at night, the other in Atlanta. I don’t believe UGA has lost consecutive games in the state of Georgia since 2011.
My preference would obviously be to play Texas A&M, but I don’t mind playing Texas again in Atlanta with them coming off a must win on the road against a rival while UGA gets an extra day of rest.
If they win both, likely finish #2, get a bye, play winner of 7/10 in Atlanta while rested and at peak health.

This is the SEC Rant, not the SEC Can’t. We don’t go out of our way to justify our opponent’s errors. That’s actually the opposite of what we do here.

Oklahoma deserves a sizable humbling. They’ve been a major beneficiary of a laughable conference for 20+ years.

You simply don’t understand how little this matters. You lost to Vanderbilt. You’re ranked lower than UGA. UGA has won two titles since your last one and your last legitimate one was the product of a miracle. You’ve been a shell of your former program since January 2016 and you’re pounding your chest over the last 8 years after a loss to Vanderbilt. I would consider resetting my expectations and picking up other hobbies.

It’s been the general “holier than thou” approach for me. They fall back on their recent history, thinking that means within the last 6-7 years, but they’re talking about pre-Mark Richt firing history, apparently. Because if 75% of their fan base doesn’t consider the 2020 election legitimate, I can’t possibly consider their national title that season legitimate. Since Kirby left, they have 2nd and 26 and that’s it.

Sounds like Clemson fans a few years ago. Time to accept your fate.
Like UGA, Clemson has a more recent legitimate national title than Bama.

You’re looking for answers that aren’t there. Bobo, who I like more than the average UGA fan, had an offense with a Super Bowl winning QB, a 1st rd RB, a 2nd rd WR and multiple NFL OL, but couldn’t manage a TD at home against South Carolina and cost us a shot at a national title. He also had one of the school’s best offenses ever with Hutson Mason at QB. He isn’t suddenly going to become something he has never been 10-20 years later.

That may make you feel warm at night, but sans a worldwide pandemic, it hasn’t fed the wife and kids since 2017.

Get over yourself, we look like shite more frequently than we have in the past, but we’ve won two of the last three titles and were ranked in the top 5.

How many times has Kirby had the opportunity to host Bama at home?

UGA has won two of the last three title and still has the coach who won them. I don’t really need excuses. UGA just had an off night where they turned the ball over an uncharacteristic amount of times leading to a one possession loss on the road to a worse team. It happens in conference play.

Bro, UGA didn’t lose to Vandy and UGA is ranked higher than Bama. Against Bama, UGA had four turnovers, an unforced safety and were subjected to multiple Prayer at Jordan-Hare type plays. Yet, UGA only lost by a possession with its last offensive play ending in Bama’s end zone. It was a regretful loss to an inferior opponent, but a mere blip. Losing to Vandy may be the impetus for setting back Bama’s program for a decade.

The lack of helmet communication regulation. This ain’t the NFL. Teams are going to struggle on the road this year.

I firmly believe Alabama tapped into UGA’s helmet communications until they got up four scores and realized they had to scale it back because it had become too obvious. Everything thereafter was more representative of the two teams. It’s really the only logical explanation.
Ahem…bump

They aren’t better than UGA, Tejas or the Gumps. They aren’t significantly better than Ole Miss or Missouri, if they’re better at all. We haven’t even touched on LSU or South Carolina yet. Tennessee just exists.

UT is, at best, the fourth best SEC team. Possibly the 5th or 6th. Where does that leave Oklahoma?

If we get healthier on D, we will have the best D in the country…
and it looks like we’ll need it if we want to compete for a championship. Our OL/TEs look weak.
