i remember growing up in Mandeville listening to both record labels.i remember UNLV dissing mistikal, dumping his body in chucks yard and putting a note around his neck reading badass yellow boy. i remember master P teaching us how to make crack in his on the ice cream
man album in 1996. i remember silk charging it to the game. i remember walking the halls and hearing white boys grunt make em say uhhhh nananana.i remember my friend buying a no limit snoop album at walmart then realizing afterwards it was the clean version cause back then the walmart in covington only sold clean versions hahaha
i then remember going to college and growing up and getting away from that horrible crap.
edited to add i remember years later while watching mtv news that juvenile chased a couple of strippers out of his mandeville house with an ice pick after they flooded a bathtub in his house.

i struggle as well with this but know the benefits of it for the betterment of the family. if you’re a christian and a husband as well as a father then this is something that impacts your life daily. i think it’s important to fill your cup as well as others, it’s all a balance. Christ served others and expects us to do the same. marriage is hard, raising kids is hard, being a good friend is hard. Carrying your cross is hard.

Ocala National Forest has em, silver springs and the oklawaha river. been there around 75 years now, left behind from the old Tarzan show they filmed there. huge wild herds of them. i paddled the river and camped several nights and saw them daily. look it up.

look up the return of the black bear to big bend natl park. the bear disappeared for years then they naturally migrated back from mexico to set up a healthy population in the chisos mountains, the center of the park.

austin/San antonio truly is where the southeast meets the southwest. where pine trees disappear and cactus becomes abundant. some days the air is thin and dry, some days the humidity reminds me of my days in louisiana/florida.

Seal on tour
no, not that seal, not the kiss from a rose singer guy with facial scars or whatever. this seal is a canadian that travels mostly solo all around the world and to places well off the beaten path. afghanistan, pakistan, india, wherever. i feel like he will be killed one day doing this. pretty entertaining shite.

re: Why isn’t the Pensacola metro area a larger city than it is?
Posted by tigertrueAU on 1/12/26 at 7:33 am to LSUneaux
i lived in pensacola for 10 years in the early 2000’s.
its a beautiful area no doubt but the lack of industries hurt it. no real job growth. it’s got old money, military and retired folks.
not sure why the port doesn’t expand but it prolly has to do with the fact that Mobile and new orleans already have better ports and rivers.
yes it has some ghetto ish areas that i wouldn’t want to be in after dark (or during the day) but nothing more then neighboring cities of similar size. ultimately there’s nothing wrong with pcola, just nothing that can attract young people parking adults looking to establish careers and build families.
