We were undefeated and not a favorite over Clemson in 18?

There's no way.

He is without question the GOAT coach of college football.

He is at least in the same conversation as people like John Wooden, Red Auerbach, Bill Belichick, Connie Mack, Pat Riley, and others for the greatest coach in any sport.

John Wooden's record will never be equaled. But he also coached in an era when college basketball wasn't nearly as popular and there wasn't nearly as much competition. For the first nine of Wooden's ten NCAA championships, there were only 22-25 teams in the NCAA tournament, and only conference champions and select independents were allowed in.

Just wait and watch.

When NIL becomes the letter of the law everywhere, every Bama player will be driving a new Mercedes...perfectly legally...in return for a couple of appearances at the plant outside Tuscaloosa.

As Saban has famously said about other changes in college football...is this what we want college football to become? Be careful how you answer.

You better have some good luck whether it is schedule luck, injury luck, or just plain luck most every year.

JMO but I believe Nick goes to bed each night and gets up each morning with the fear of losing. He will do everything needed to prevent that.

4 more years max.

What’s crazy is he’s going to add a lot more numbers to that resume. He’s got 5-6 years left easily. He’s an animal. I could see 2-3 more titles and 1-2 Heismans. 20+ more first rounders etc

And reading this - at no point did I think it was some fan arrogance, or far fetched fantasy. Probably a good conservative prediction.

Could even go so far to say - based on what he has done, built - even if you hired Curly Hallman to replace him - still would have prob another 5 years or so of success.

None of this is good news. We gotta do what we gotta do, but our favorite sport just died a little.

This is going to open a can of worms. Sometimes teams have chemistry issues when one player just gets more ATTENTION than others (I think we suffered a bit for this during the Tua years).

Imagine if they're getting millions of dollars and your right tackle is getting zero?

And if I remember correctly, 07 (his first season) was the first year in a decade+ that Bama didn't have anyone drafted. So he didn't even arrive with a full cupboard.

And yet, 3 years later he wins a National Championship. In fact, no player he has recruited at Alabama has had to wait beyond his junior year for a ring that says National Champion.

If someone is paying college players millions of dollars they won't be paying players for long. There's too many players for that to happen.

As much as I like Charles Barkley, his take on that was also idiotic. Like he didn't make more in endorsements than nearly every teammate he had

7 NCs, but I understand listing 6 as the one at LSU is pretty much forgotten. Most people don’t even know he coached there.
