Maybe showing my age a bit - but remember a time where baseball was diff - not near as much of the shite we all sling and talk during football- not saying it was some gentlemen’s game - but there was a certain level of respect for the game or some shite.
This OU team deserves all the praise and more.
When we saw SEC had 5 teams in Omaha - doubt many of us had OU being the one to come out on top. In regional play - damn sure didn’t have them anywhere close to Omaha.

Man - they sure were fun to watch, how can you not love college baseball with something like this? Hell of a run! Looked like a great group of kids on that team - and they damn sure didn’t have a cake walk getting there.
Man, it gets so much fun to see a team start to elevate their play, seeing kids who are not destined for ball after college start to play above their ability.
And as much as I claim to hate ole miss- still have to acknowledge how yall won it in 22’ last one in tournament and win the whole thing.
Hell- Mike Martin made it 17 times with Fla state -never won.

Man - you can’t take it out of Omaha!!! But damn sure wouldn’t hurt to take it out of that park. Like how it’s downtown and all- but man, just not a fan of it in general. Not even talking about how it plays - just in general the things feels just too spaced out - part of it seems to be way foul territory is designed - overhead it looks like the Shell logo.

I don’t think this is warranted - we been college baseball fans since the 90s, when none of yall paid attention to it - it was all we had - after being crazy bout curly - so we embraced it

Damn! Had no clue on that. And we got 5 in Omaha this year - all during a “down year” - not to mention - the 5 is not made up of teams you would have expected. If pressed at bg of season to name the 5 that made it - many lists would have had LSU, Vandy, FLA or Ark in there somewhere.

I have watched a little of UGA this year - have seen plenty of hr hit out of that park - where it didn’t make a diff if the wall was in the next parish - they were gone. How many hr did uga hit on road? I’m willing to bet if you take out midweek home games and do an even comparison - prob gonna show enough to dilute this small park bit.

Can’t really put my finger on it - and have to admit don’t know much about y’all’s team - other than the success this year - but there is something that makes me feel like bama might be waiting in the shadows to do some damage in Omaha ( expecting all goes as planned today). Don’t know - just seems like they have been quietly moving through post season -
Looked to be a hell of an atmosphere - as mentioned in another thread - no reason this game should be at 11 ( I guess 12 for y’all) at least the aft game.
Always like how during post season - you watch other super regionals - and non sec parks - you see empty seats - pretty tame crowd- (west Va did have pretty intense environment) - show sec parks - and hell, yall see it - great crowds, great environments -

No kidding - I’m an lsu fan so naturally believe there is a conspiracy against us by both espn and ncaa - and my paranoia extends to the sec in some cases. Unintentionally - I don’t think Kiffin would have treated it like some situation like some mail in bowl game - I believe he would have made every effort to do all he could to coach the team as he had all season - but even with those intentions - would have been plenty of slippage, and have to think def would affect their play.
Look - I hate ole miss more than any other school in SEC, in the U.S. - in the galaxy- but I honestly cannot blame them for not allowing him to coach the playoffs.
Take away any emotional baring on it, any talk of going to a rival and all of that from an operational standpoint - I would figure operationally just too much distraction, risk, etc.

Yeah - I think you are right, - seems like maybe if you have two sec teams on cusp of national seed battling it out - it has a little influence
But almost like they expect or accept there is always a good chance none of your potential national seeds will even be in the ch game.
