Zeke" Smith: Played for the Baltimore Colts and the New York Giants. He played college football at Auburn University where he was awarded the Outland Trophy in 1958.
His banner, along with four other Auburn greats - Bo Jackson, Pat Sullivan, Tracy Rocker and Carlos Rogers, is hanging outside Jordan–Hare Stadium in his honor."

Richard Tardits was also another good one.

He was a walk-on?

Tech letting him leave was just stupid
Mohomes is a pretty damn good QB.

In recent memory, Rashad Johnson comes to mind. Walked on as a running back, switched to safety, and left as an All-American.
Can't argue with that, but I think I'd go with Levi Wallace; he walked on in the midst of Saban's streak of #1 recruiting classes and became a significant contributor, and then starter, at CB on a roster filled with a lot of 4* and 5* talent...

no, he walked on at Oklahoma as well. He actually enrolled at Oklahoma without informing the football staff at Oklahoma . He officially walked on a month later. Pretty incredible to go from a two-time walk-on to winning the Heisman and #1 pick in the draft. Not sure you could find a more successful walk-on story than that. (He's still a douche)

It’s Richard Tardits and only Billy Bennett can really claim to be close.

Matt Luke was a walk-on and ended up as a team captain. I'm admittedly not sure who this would be

That's pretty crazy but that's why star ratings frick lazy coaches. Manziel was a 3 star. You just never know.
Not sure if I believe this.

Mayfield walked on at TT beat out Webb who was also a Fr and a Sr. BM wasn't there in spring but beat out both.BM got hurt in the season n Webb started middle of the season.
End of the season Kingsbury was trying to keep both there and wasn't sure about BM's scholarship.Bm said get ×/%##@@^ n walked on at Ok. Webb started for another 2 yrs and Mahomes then beat him out.Webb transferred to Cal .All 3 are now in the NFL.

I’ll throw Kerwin Bell in as an honorable mention.
Chris Doering deserves a mention as well. The guy is tied atop the SEC record book for TD receptions in a career.
