I’m sure all the Kentucky fans will stop melting now that it’s clearly shown it wasn’t offensive goaltending
quote:
Art. 2. Basket interference a. Basket interference occurs when a player.
2. Touches the ball while any part of it is within the cylinder that has the ring as its lower base;
The cylinder is:
quote:
b. The cylinder is the imaginary geometric figure that has the ring as its base and is formed by the upward extension of that ring. c. The ball shall be considered to be within the basket when any part of the ball is below the cylinder and the level of the ring.
It wasn’t “in” the basket and was “in” the cylinder as the cylinder is like the goal line in FB, it extends beyond the boundary marked/seen.
ETA: I don’t get why you can’t understand the cylinder is beyond the actual physical rim when it clearly states it in the rule.

The rule states any part of the ball.

Maybe if you cry more the rules will change retroactively and Kentucky will get the win.

Per the rule any part of the ball that’s in the cyclinder is considered interference. The cylinder extends upward.
Are you saying it wasn’t in the cylinder?
What about the Kentucky defender that slaps the backboard?

You have a cylinder between your thighs, and it's bleeding.
Bigly.

I mean, whatever. WCA is correct. It’s a judgement call considering the definitions and wording.
We can argue this all day, like other fans of other teams in other games have done as well

Slapping the backboard isn’t goaltending in college.

Dickie V said it was clean, and these so called fans of basketball royalty are trying to trash his good name.
Shameful.
